straight.drive Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 In my opinion , partition had done good to india. How long can we handle brainless, violent and low-IQ tribal morons in areas bordering afghanistan?
seedhi Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Not only have the Muslims got there separate nation but they are still living in India and form a major part here. Dont know what was the logic behind such a partition where they get there separate Land of pure and still continue to live in India . India should have been Muslim-free or else No-Partition should have happened .And now our own Prime Minister declares that Muslims have the first right to the natural resources of the country. Also, given the way they have destroyed the country they were granted on a platter, the pakis have now started blaming the Hindus/RSS/Savarkar for the partition. This is the same tune that Diggy is singing.

Not all the muslims in India at that time believed a seperate nation would work and hence stayed since they believed in India..else they would have all left voluntarily. Forcing them out is definitely ridiculous. There are Hindus living in Pakistan.. ever wondered why they didn't move to India at any point ? cause they believe/d in Pakistan. I am against clubbing all the muslims as one (that is infact the problem)

Maybe this is rocket science but people don't like to shoved out of places where they have an established family, source of income, property etc. I think it is foolhardy to believe that those who stayed or moved had some inherent belief in any system.

coffee_rules Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Hindus who chose to live in Pakistan believed in an Islamic nation called Pakistan.. That's one of the best jokes I've heard Think it over, did they chose to live back or were they left back? I think they didn't have the resources to move or were not sure, so just stayed back. I believe that a majority of muslims who decided to stay back in India belong to the same category. I don't think there was any belief, it was a confused state of mind, those who made up their minds left and went, those who couldn't decide stayed back. Only some well-to-do people who could find livelihood across the border decided to leave, while those who couldn't ..stayed back and continued their life.

How much resource do you really need to move across Punjab ? .. anyone would do it if they thought their life was at peril. The fact that they believed in Pakistan/Jinnah is the promise he made that minorities will not be persecuted and can continue doing what they are doing. I've met Hindus from Pakistan and they are as fiercely proud of their nation as their muslim counterparts.

India should have been Muslim-free or else No-Partition should have happened . At the time of Independence, India declared itself as a Secular Nation, so there was no concept of being "Muslim-free" as you put it. The way the lines were drawn was by seeing the latest census at the time, and dividing areas based on majority. There was no call for people to move from one part to the other. The only reason majority of people left their homes and property to move to the other country was not on the basis of any ideology alone, but more for safety purposes (after the riots started).

That way Hindus, Sikhs, Jains etc of the subcontinent would have got their homeland.

Many more examples of similar noble acts he has quoted (about the Parsi settlers)- which is what makes India what it is today. Hindus, Sikhs,Jains,Indian jews etc have a homeland, a secular homeland. (and I am a staunch RSS supporter) Simple question - WHY???We would have ended up with a more religiously homogeneous and a smaller population, as most probably more Muslims would have left for pakistan. But this is now long past us, all we can do is to learn lessons from history but unfortunately that isnt happening either. As far as "secular" goes, India might have declared itself a secular state in name, but what we got instead was pseudo-secularism into which appeasement was incorporated. This happened because secularism was forced from the top only onto the majority community. In this process the whole principle was compromised and over time this compromises have been entrenched and manifest themselves as intractable problems. This bizarre secularism of India has created an absurd discourse in which the demand for a Uniform Civil Code is called communal, whereas religion based reservation/subsidy is called secular; the teaching of accurate history of conflicts in India is called communal; declaring Muslims have the first right to natural resources is called secular. Well I choose not to laud this perverted principle of secularism.

Well again like your previous post you are assuming their helplessness for their conviction or belief in Pakistan. It was a simple case of hedging your bets. Either lose everything and build from zero or hope like hell that sanity will return and they won't have to abandon their ancestorial property and also not get killed in the process. I am sure you are right about hindus. At the time of partition, there were more than 10 % hindus in Pak. and now less than 1 %. I am sure they feel proud.

seedhi Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Why wasn't this ch**** booked for treason just take a look at this picture The author of this book, Aziz Burney, is the Group Editor for urdu in the Sahara Group. This person heads the largest urdu media group in the country and spills out such outlandish conspiracy theories. Diggy wasnt the only propagandist present. Mahesh Bhatt also was there.
coffee_rules Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 ^ :wall: No wonder 9/11 was believed to be 'Mossad/CIA ki Saazish' too.

I am sure they feel proud. Stats can be very deceptive unless you scrutinize them. Don't you think the above scenario happened more because the majority population increased at a faster rate than the Hindus ?... Then you would say they migrated out of the country - it is due to economic reasons than political. But then again, I guess that is the perception among the majority in India. Same as the Pakis thinking that 'Godhra' is a regular occurrence in our country and the muslims are struggling to live in India. I was told first-hand by a Pak Hindu from Sindh that there is a vibrant hindu community in Pakistan and they are mostly traders/businessmen. They have not been discriminated against . They celebrate holi, diwali etc with their muslim neighbours . It is only recently that the radicals started filtering in from NWFP with all the threats on temples, infidels etc - and guess who is rallying in front of em to protect them ...
