Rajiv Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 If I were you I would hold my tongue till WC is over.... Final -- Wankhede -- India vs XYZ team...India lose by 1 run..... bringing back history into foreplay...the outcome could outweigh anything Eden has ever seen Your post seems equivalent to what the crowd did to the team when they played against SA there. Looks like you want it to happen to even out the event Frankly, if it did - at least they would be pissed for the right reasons But dude, while we are fantasizing, why only 1 run? How abt Sachin given out incorrectly, XYZ teams player was not given out coz Zaheer's no-ball was marginal Rest assured, if there is crowd trouble - Powar will give a speech which will turn angry heads ROLF'ing on the floor I'll take your advice and hold my tongue, but my fingers are free to type :cantstop:
kabira Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 IIRC, Mumbai crowd went mad in one game where Azhar was given out wrongly. Mind you Sachin was still there in the crease and he was sublime touch. This wsa the game http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64533.html Azhar had to come out and pacify the crowd
fineleg Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 May be you should have held your tongue. Sounds almost like you wish something bad so that you could feel vindicated. That would not be the first time for a wish like that from West Bengal, they boo-ed the Indian team because their "Dada" was dropped :haha:
Texy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 May be you should have held your tongue. Sounds almost like you wish something bad so that you could feel vindicated. Never. The point is everyone always highlight Eden's crowd trouble as if it's the only stadium in India with unsavory past. Despite all the selective incidents, Eden to Cricket is what Yankee stadium to baseball. Your post seems equivalent to what the crowd did to the team when they played against SA there. Looks like you want it to happen to even out the event Frankly, if it did - at least they would be pissed for the right reasons Not at all. Nothing would be more satisfying than seeing Indian team lift that cup at Wankhede. I'm simply trying to point out that Eden gets it fair share of blame despite being one of the best cricket stadiums in the world. That would not be the first time for a wish like that from West Bengal' date= they boo-ed the Indian team because their "Dada" was dropped :haha: No one is proud of that moment but at the same time people of Bengal and cricket lovers at Eden stood behind their team many many times. Just ask VVS Laxman, Kapil Dev. Eden and Kolkata is the home of some of the most passionate fans you will ever find in the cricket world. Highlights of Eden's History: -From the 1st recorded test match between India and England in 1934 -1st floodlight sporting cricket stadium hosting ODI between India & Sri Lanka in 1987 with 100,000 fans officially and unofficially over 300,000 fans cheering India. -Kapil Dev's Hattrick in 1991 -Harbhajan Singh's hattrick against Aus in 2001 -VVS Laxman's 281 against Aus Finey, your obvious insinuating comments taking pot shots at whole of Bengal is not only insulting but quite offensive to every bengali on this planet who has been born and raised in Bengal, supported team India through out.

Andy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 That would not be the first time for a wish like that from West Bengal' date=' they boo-ed the Indian team because their "Dada" was dropped :haha:[/quote'] Its high time you stop generalising people and take communal digs. Even you yourself know that it was one part of the gallery, that was involved in that act. I am from Bengal too and much before Ganguly actually got dropped i wanted him out. So this post shows you are either a racist person or Pretty immature to generalise 'Dada's Blind Fans as Bengalis.
Bumblebee Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 i do not think there is a good minister in Congress! all are fecking corrupt! excpet manmohan singh and he is a puppet!
Baad Indian Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 No matter what , the fact that Indian team wont play a single match on the " Mecca of Indian cricket" is an utter shame which is unfair to millions of cricket lovers all over the world especially the locals in Kolkata who were looking forward to watch this game
Anakin Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 That would not be the first time for a wish like that from West Bengal' date=' they boo-ed the Indian team because their "Dada" was dropped :haha:[/quote'] Since Dada is not playing anymore, do you wish death upon him now?
yoda Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 from those pics, looks like they thought the WC is in 2012. :giggle:

Today Eden is not ready for what? Look no further -- but because of CAB and Dalmiya who are part of an administration elected by who -- YOU -- YOU -- Look no further my friend -- look at the mirror and point the finger at yourself.

Isnt the man... the president of the ICC ????? wahahahahahahahaha :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: He is the president of ICC, but it's not entirely his decision. I am sure there there people who have taken the decision after evaluating some facts. He can not simply override that decision. He might talk to them and see if a second chance may be given to the ground on certain conditions, but I dont think he can do more than that. And we should not expect him to be partial to us to such a high degree just because he is the president.
