Beyond anything else, what stands out for me is the sheer dumbness of the Pakistani trio. They did everything possible except maybe an on-camera confession of guilt, to ensure their conviction. Who in their right mind, could possibly be so brazen and unsophisticated about something that could possibly derail your life for ever? Right from day 1, there was no attempt whatsoever to cover their bases. I mean, one of the cardinal rules of fixing is to make sure that the link between yourself (the player) and the fixer (in this case, Mazhar Majeed), can not be established. Not only did these guys publicly strut around London with Majeed, they spoke more often and exchanged more text messages than a normal gf-bf would! But one thing stands out to me, in the entire judgment - Butt's defense actually claims that, and i am not kidding here, that all the talk of spot-fixing was Majeed's unique way of mocking the Pakistan's players for their bad performances on the field and that Butt was simply playing along in the 'joke'.. :hysterical:

These three stooges broke down and starting blaming each other and the evidence is there. Can you imagine how much more difficult it will be when facing real consequences like massive legal bills, possible prison time and other fines/penalties. These clowns will be ready to turn over the other cheats like Akmal, Riaz and we'll see another round of idiots who should be banned.
