i dont think so. our bowling sucks. our part time bowlers are pathetic. if the pitch doesnt help the spinners, then i dont c india winning this world cup with this bowling line up and with dhoni's captaincy. take a look at today's match. his bowling changes, and field placings are below standard. add to that, bad team selection ignoring sreesanth. although he went for runs in the previous match, he shuda been in the playing 11 because of his wicket taking ability. dhoni gave reasons that piyush was selected becoz of his batting. lol, he is not strong in either batting or bowling. our fielding..lol. i dont have say abt it. i am not gonna watch any of the matches. boy this annoying. really.

Wicket takers plz... Oppositions have to fear atleast one bowler in your rank. Bare minimum is one bowler. Nobody is scared of any bowler in our side. Someone who teams want to play out. They gave scant respect to our bowlers. Agreed. Dhoni's ultra defensive field placing enabled them to motor along freely. But still our bowlers hardly got their length right. More than the line we suffered seriously lengthwise. They should have learnt from Bresnan's last over bowling full is the best option to get wickets. Yet spinners to pacers everyone was pitching short. Chawla was pitching shorter than short. It was such a club level bowling from us. No slow balls, no yorkers, No cutters, No variations. Harbhajan had two types of deliveries. Bowling wides outside the stump or darting straight at the stumps. That's it. This is simply not working. India must play 5 bowlers hoping atleast 1 clicks. Chawla. big No. Atleast 2 or 3 teams will fancy his half trackers.

But the bowlers don't matter now do they? We are supposed to fill our team with World Class batsmen till position no. 11 :giggle:

You need both. Bowling alone won't help you same way Batting alone won't help you. You gotta strike a balance. Looking at the world cup teams only SA has that. Both batting and bowling is good. Australia batting is not exactly great without Hussey. Rest of the teams weak in one area or the other. Don't forget India has chased down 300 plus total in 40 overs against Pakistan in Pakistan. On patta tracks your bowling is just as crap. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/335351.html

Ashwin has 14 wickets in 7 matches. They should try him. He always attacks the stumps. He always flights the ball. He gives himself more chance than some of the other spinners we have. I dearly miss Ojha. He is one bowler you simply cannot go after easily. He got amazing loop that you can't easily hit through. 16 matches 20 wickets ER of 4.31. Anyway he is not in the squad. So next best option is to include Ashwin in place of Chawla and Nehra in place of Yusuf pathan.

Field first and back our batting to chase whatever our bowlers give away. To be fair though, we cant really criticize our bowling too much because England conceded just as many runs. The pitch was an absolute beauty and the outfield was fantastic. Any bowling attack would have struggled there. But I was not impressed by Dhoni's tactics. He could have brought back Zaheer a lot earlier, set an attacking field and went for wickets. That's the only way India could have won this game.
