NareshK Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 It was Dhoni's piss poor defensive captaincy that cost us this game. Luckily, they took the powerplay and had to play some shots and collapsed. Otherwise, they had the game in the bag.

philcric Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 When Zak ran that run short and goofed up the last two balls' date=' I told my friend at that time, that this very incident might cost us the game, I had that incident at the back of my mind for the entire chase, hence had to bring that up. That was a school boy error and both Zak and Munaf panicked. Nevertheless fantastic game, I somehow feel we didnt really deserve the point.[/quote'] It was Munaf who ran the short one !
hari504504 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 probably saved either of the teams..else with 2 to get from the last ball- Swann would've defnitely taken the Aerial route..and the result would be... :hmmm:
nospam Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 This incident reminds me of Hafeez misfielding a shot in the 2007 CWC final against India which went for a six and Pakistan lost by 5 runs.
Shane Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 This incident reminds me of Hafeez misfielding a shot in the 2007 CWC final against India which went for a six and Pakistan lost by 5 runs. Yea, I guess it was Rohit or Dhoni, it was a right handed batsman for sure, hafeez palmed it for a six. Its sometimes during moments like these, you get a feeling that perhaps this could be a crucial miss in the game. Happened to me today with that run out and us not playing out the 50. Cant get these losses (+Carling) out of my head, I need to sleep. :|
HowardRoark Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 The one run that we lacked to get an outright win could be any of those - Munaf's short run, Yuvi's missed singles and not coverted doubles, Any of those dot balls during our innings that could have been easily converted into a single, Any of our misfields, Any of those easy singles and doubles that could have been prevented with a little urgency from our fielders, etc. Now tell me which one run was it? Let's just put it behind and accept that a tie was the most deserving result for both the teams.
yoda Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 You guys are funny talking about scoring more to make up for this crappy bowling. :hysterical: I am soooooo glad we came up with a draw given that we couldn't contain even if our life depended on it. This bowling will eat any number of runs that the batting can score and one more run wouldn't have made any difference.
theanalyst Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I don't think that you can look at one small incident for the result. KP let one through when Tendulkar hit Anderson through the covers and it should have been stopped. That's not the reason why we didn't win. There are larger issues that need to be looked at by both teams.
Desi Cartman Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 SRT's lame effort in stopping the boundary :dontknow: :--D

vvvslaxman Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 They would have adjusted their batting accordingly. So we cannot pinpoint that as a reason. Let us not forget we gave away loads of runs through poor fielding.
Sir john Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 nope our bad luck cost us match. :wall: :((:((
Manny_Pacquiao Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 bell decision + dropped catches + edges not appealed for + lazy fielding u cant narrow it down to one moment, when the whole fielding performance was mediocre.
