Clarke Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Maybe it was the edge off Strauss' bat that we missed no, it was Bell's bad decision. wait, it was the misfield. Hell, as they say, raat gayi so baat gayi.
Sooda Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Ian Bell's Powerplay shot? India fluffing their last few overs with the bat? Misfields all round, all end up magnified... off Cricinfo
jf1gp_1 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 wha about bell not given out ? i am surprised there isnt a thread on it ; so much for UDRS
nballa Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 each one of those dot balls in that 338 will now prove costly. not just that blown run. suresh raina missfielded an easy one and they scored a run wasn't that costly?
DomainK Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 You can not pin it on one particular mistake.
Sachin=GOD Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 wha about bell not given out ? i am surprised there isnt a thread on it ; so much for UDRS absolutely pathetic umpiring. 2 umpires on the ground and the 3rd umpire together cannot see that the ball was going straight for the middle stump and was definitely out. I don't know whats the use of UDRS if even after using such technology, we have such howlers from the umpires.
sandeep Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 pin it on the cr@p bowling performance. and pyss poor captaincy. England took 1s and 2s at will all day. And Dhoni let them do it all day. That's what cost us this game.
SachDan Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Maybe it was the edge off Strauss' bat that we missed no, it was Bell's bad decision. wait, it was the misfield. Hell, as they say, raat gayi so baat gayi. Ditto! In these kind close matches, you just can't pick a single incident that tilted the match in one team's favour!
asterix Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Bhajan dropping Strauss early on..That made the difference.. This Tie's credit goes to Harbhajan..
zaheer Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 You can not pin it on one particular mistake. Exactly... there were loads of mistakes from both sides.. Happy with the tie result as a fan.. But the team need to get thier act together
coffee_rules Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Dhoni for not stemming the runs with fielding set in and let them take risks for runs..
retterimp Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 this excuse is for losers, whats done is done, dhoni had plenty of time from 15th over onwards to realize that his bowlers werent able to get wickets and his job was to set fields correctly and only stop the flow of runs, never really would've got this close if it wasnt for his random decisions, rather than being tactically active
someone Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 338 or 339 Simple question why was that one run not counted in india total??
coffee_rules Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Zaheer didn't cross the crease while he ran the first run and was well short completing the second. Apparently, it was not shown in close-up, I remember seeing it only from a far shot.
debachat Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 nope it was a short run. Total brain freeze from the two. Got run out (played one ball less) and then a short run.
cowboysfan Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 all round pathetic performance in the field, the goofs up were too innumerable to list starting from the non-appeal.
Shane Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Maybe it was the edge off Strauss' bat that we missed no, it was Bell's bad decision. wait, it was the misfield. Hell, as they say, raat gayi so baat gayi. When Zak ran that run short and goofed up the last two balls, I told my friend at that time, that this very incident might cost us the game, I had that incident at the back of my mind for the entire chase, hence had to bring that up. That was a school boy error and both Zak and Munaf panicked. Nevertheless fantastic game, I somehow feel we didnt really deserve the point.
Guest prince Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 u can't blame the Run that was one short at the end of our inning, uv was hesitant in running when batting with dhoni, bell's not out, bhajji not going for a catch with two hands, kohli dropping one.... we can't do ifs and buts
