SachDan Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Too early to predict. But I don't think we should look at most wickets or most runs to decide the player of the tournament. Rather i'd like look at how many influential performances has a player produced. I think Yuvraj in that sense is very much a front runner. 9 wickets @ 25 at an E/R of 5.00 (bloody good for a part timer) 284 runs @ 95 at a S/R of 86 (one 100 & three 50s) 2 MoMs 11 wickets and 3 MOMs !!
The Outsider Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 It's a batsman's game, but Zaheer has carried the Indian bowling basically on his own. 15 wickets, an average of 15, and ER of 4.3. Not just the numbers it's been the timing of his wickets - brought India back into the match against England when we had lost for all practical purposes, the death bowling against South Africa to give Nehra a very defendable total, and again Smith's wicket against WI. For me he has been India's MVP.
kabira Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Ahmedabad will be abrasive surface and reverse swing will be on offer. Zaheer can play big part in that game as well.
Silva Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 My opinion yuvi. Without yuvi india might not have qualified for the next round. Its really pathetic to think about, dhoni pathan and ghambir have to step it up.
kooljatt Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Would be great if Sixer Kinng Yuvi wins MOS & Sachin paji MOM in final:pray:
Sachin=GOD Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Yuvraj, Devilliars, Sehwag, Zak and of course Goddy are leading contenders IMO.

Midfielder Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Who ever wins the finals will have the player of tournament.
pensionplan Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Yuvraj' date=' Devilliars, Sehwag, Zak and of course Goddy are leading contenders IMO.[/quote']I would assume the preferable order for you would be the reverse of what you stated as the leading candidates. :-)
veer Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Yuvi' date=' Tendulkar, Zaheer and Sehwag are in the hunt from an Indian perspective.[/quote'] sehwag for what?? made a century against bangla but nothing more.. zak won't get it since he didnt have stats and wickets to show it.. he is unlucky when it comes to MOM awards..
Midfielder Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I dont know who wins it but for India it is Zaheer all the way.
SachDan Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I would assume the preferable order for you would be the reverse of what you stated as the leading candidates. :-) okay
Zelig Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Who ever wins the finals will have the player of tournament. Wasn't it Zulu in 1999 :hmmm:
