achilles Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Nannes seems to be a decent replacement in the "bowler" mould. He bowls well in India and has decent experience (albiet 4 overs/game) of bowling here.
Sachin=GOD Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 if hussey joins the squad.. aus winning 4th straight! ++ :((
rkk101 Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Shame about Bollinger although I have always had a prefrence for Moet & Chandon!
Sid Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Aus with or without Hussey are not winning this world cup, they are too dependent on one batsman, otherwise as well they will replace a bowler for bowler,I dont see Hussey being selected
rkt.india Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Nah' date=' too young.. He still needs to prove more I think..[/quote'] Look at Aamir...he was selected at 17 too...if a fast bowler has talent like Cummins it should be utilized before he bites the dust in FC cricket and get injuries there
Zelig Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Cummins has played just two List A matches, and you will throw him right away into the WC, eh?
rkt.india Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Cummins has shown enough talent...He will do better than sddle imo..Though they also have nannes..But dont think he will be picked
99.94 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Cummins has shown enough talent...He will do better than sddle imo..Though they also have nannes..But dont think he will be picked The domestic final is on at the moment. Nannes was absolutely on fire, swing, seam, bowling 145 plus, took 2 for not many. I really hope the selectors were watching. Siddle bowled just one over for 12.

Now if only we could find a way to get Hussey and Doherty in there..
NareshK Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Nannes to join Aussies as standby player for World Cup Australian chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch has said that Victorian Bushrangers fast bowler Dirk Nannes will join the squad as a standby player for the World Cup. It comes after fast bowler Douglas Bollinger was ruled out of the squad with an ankle injury a week ago and the selection panel decided to gamble on an extra batsman with Michael Hussey rather than bolstering their fast-bowling stocks. "Dirk will train with the Australian World Cup squad and be fit, available and acclimatised in the event of an injury to a fast bowler, in particular a new-ball fast bowler, in the final stages of this tournament," Fox Sports quoted Hilditch, as saying in a statement. "Dirk has been in excellent form and played a critical role in Victoria's recent (one-day) cup victory and will be an excellent replacement bowler in the event of injury to a key opening bowler," he added. Australia's remaining World Cup matches are against minnows Kenya and Canada on March 13 and 16 in Bangalore before playing Pakistan in Colombo three days later. (ANI) Does this mean they get to pick Hussey and Nannes too ? Can we get another spinner in place of Chawla like Ojha maybe ?
Bradman99 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 No, we can't pick him for a game unless another player gets injured.
Switchblade Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 No' date=' we can't pick him for a game unless another player gets injured.[/quote'] I thought SIDDLE might have got his chance
Bradman99 Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I thought SIDDLE might have got his chance I think Nannes is the right choice. Siddle will get his chance in future years, but Nannes was fantastic for Victoria in the final and has experience bowling in India.
