Zeemazing Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Ive been thinking, never a good thing But consider this After Akmal dropped Taylor twice, he went on to score a very Sedate 50. 78 Balls it took him, and he rarely took any chances. Now Akhtar comes on and Taylor is on 76. Akhtar bowled three straight Full tosses, Now i by no means am i saying Akhtar is a smart bowler but consider these cricinfo commentary 46.1 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, FOUR, poor delivery to begin with, swinging wide full toss way outside off stump, he capitalises, and slashes it over point and into the boundary 46.2 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, SIX, Taylor has made Pakistan pay dearly, another full toss, this time on the pads, and Ross swings it powerfully, flat and quick, over deep square leg 46.3 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, SIX, 141.1 kph high full toss, it's going horribly wrong for Shoaib, Taylor swivelled and hammered it miles over the deep midwicket boundary Those to me look a little shady quite frankly. Here is what i think, Kamran, Akhtar, and the some of the other old boys had it fixed so Taylor would score a century. They figured they will beat Zimbabwe and qualify anyways, so why not make a few bucks Any thoughts
vvvslaxman Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I dont think you need to give money to beat Pakistan. It is more like candy shop owner gives money to customer to buy his candies :cantstop:
putrevus Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 these stupid pakistani fans overrate their team too much.
Misu243 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Or maybe that was just EXTREMELY POOR bowling? I don't think that what you're saying has any credibility. Akhtar seemed genuinely crushed when Kamran dropped those regulation catches and he clearly lost the plot when he came out to bowl at the death. He kept on attempting yorkers and dishing out full tosses to Taylor. Also, did you notice how Taylor moved away from the stumps against Razzaq who obliged back by bowling right on the slot for him? That was just extremely poor bowling...They should've came across the wicket to him to stop the sixes on midwicket area.
yoda Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 If bookies paid for Akmal dropping catches and Shoaib bowling erratic overs, they will bankrupt themselves before the match is over. :hehe:
Zeemazing Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 No I meant could they have bet on Props, like Ross Taylor to score a 100
Zeemazing Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 If bookies paid for Akmal dropping catches and Shoaib bowling erratic overs' date=' they will bankrupt themselves before the match is over. :hehe:[/quote'] Common that drop was clearly fixed
Ashraful_Rox Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 This is such a stupid thread. Pakistan had one bad game and you guys making illogical stuff up. Pakistan will bounce back and beat Australia.
vvvslaxman Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Kamran dropping catches is something Afridi's team has learnt to accept. So i am not sure about Akhtar getting crushed. Akhtar is simply not that Akhtar we saw few years back. He is overweight, unfit, bloated. can't run for his life. He is giving his best. But the best he gives is very poor. Still he can come up with a magic ball. But he has lost it overall. Lot of boundary balls in recent times. As a unit Pakistan bowilng is very poor. Still relies on individual brilliance. But for Afridi they might have very well lost to Canada.
Zeemazing Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 This is such a stupid thread. Pakistan had one bad game and you guys making illogical stuff up. zen Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 its a valid question, think about it, Is Ross Taylor even capable of making a century, i wonder what the odds were on him making a century prob 100 to 1 You could be right. Pak players could have made tons of money by allowing Ross to score that 100. If not for that then they would have beaten NZ easily. Pak is a good side and not like what we got to see against NZ :P

But Ross Taylor is not a bad batsman, then again he was gifted a lot of fulltosses by Shoaib Akhtar, dropped catches it seems quite reasonable. Also Shoaib bowled with a lot of venom in his opening spells, troubled everyone all of a sudden 28 runs from one over is just shocking. A world class bowler like him bowling like mortaza is questionable?

Pak is a good side and not like what we got to see against NZ :P and then Razzaq came on and Taylor got to 131, perhaps they got paid on a per 10 runs basis. 50000 pounds for every 10 runs Taylor scored
Zeemazing Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 his only other centuries were against Srilanka in 2006 and one against a minnow. This guy cant bat this well, hed barely make Indias A team

Instead of making odd faces at your bowler after a bad delivery, you're suppose to go pat on his back to calm him down and bring him on point. Also, those two deliveries to Taylor were gems..outswingers that were nicked back...It was very painful to watch them being dropped even as an Indian fan. Umar Gul had an excellent game. Don't know why his overs were completed so early. He should've been bowling instead of that Rehman at the death.

I guess Pak would allow opposition to score for that kind of money. Once they qualify for QF, I am sure they would play their real game. Don't worry :P

Now that you say this... i think canada, srilanka and kenya were given large sum to lose the match to Pakistan.
