Munaf - he's been in good form.
what good form he is in? He just gets wicket when batsman makes mistake. There is nothing in his delivery to take wickets. He just bowls straight with no intent and hopes batsman will make mistake and he will get wicket.

Why is it that Indian fans can almost never give their bowlers some credit? Munaf Patel has only played in three matches and he has more wickets than: Murali, Tait, Broad, Steyn, Morkel, Jimmy Anderson. With an excellent strike rate and average of around 20 even though India has played a couple of matches in Bangalore in the flattest pitch of the tournament. Indian fans are always moaning and complaining about the lack of fast bowlers and here's a guy who has been steadily improving over the past year even though he isn't a regular in the side. Maybe if he starts going on dance shows, grows his hair long and routinely starts sledging batsmen people will finally begin to notice his good work! Give the guy his due credit and let him bowl!
Because Munaf is not a kind of bowler who can turn the match like ZAK did against England...he has nothing up his sleeve to trouble the batsman. He bowls straight though not as consistent as he would want to be. He cannot bowl at the death. He just waits for the batsman to make mistake. He is there because he is the only option we have right now. He wont make a place even in state sides in Australia.

Yes he has but when he loses it he gives away a lot of runs plus his antics in the field
Sree does take wickets and the Saffers don't bat that deep .. couple of wickets and they start choking.
btw are you a saffer welcome to icf
Thanks for the welcome, no I'm not a Saffer.

Oh and just to make it completely clear: Munaf Patel has picked up the same number of wickets as Umar Gul even though he's played one less match and Shoaib Akhtar has all of what? 3 Wickets? The only bowler who's been underperforming in the side is Bhajji but at least he's doing a pretty good job in keeping the runs down as he's been very very economical. Some people just don't understand that India have played three matches out of 4 in Delhi/Bangalore which have been the flattest pitches so far in the tournament unlike Bangladesh/Sri Lanka where 260 is a competitive score. All I can say is for those idiots who want Sree back in or are complaining about Chawla/Ashwin etc, is that some people are never freakin' happy and they probably don't deserver to be! :)
to me looking at Shoaib's fitness and stamina, he is a wrong selection. He struggles to complete last 2 balls of an over, forget about a 10-over spell....he is not even bowling that quick now...mostly in high 130s in the last match.. Playing Sreeshanth again will be not more than a cruel joke...Munaf is still better than any other and if Nehra bowls well in the nets then he is our best bet after ZAK and Munaf...

Well, the thing is if we needed a second spinner to Bhajji why didn't we go for Ojha. I have never seen him play badly. He has very good control. He offers greater variety. Not a great feilder, but as Sir Dhoni said we can't do much about it. If we are giving up on fielding with likes of Munaf, Ashwin or Nehra surely Ojha would have been a logical choice. Oh!! I forgot Chawla can bat. Yeah except that we haven't had the privelege of watching his batting perfomance.

The only thing Munaf can hurt in this WC is himself and that too when he is chasing the ball. On these pitches he is easy to line up. Frankly, I have given up on bowling. Just pick Zaheer, Bhajji, Ashwin and anyone else. Rest all are cr@#
