He was playing sensibly. If other batsmen could do that we would have got 10-15 runs more.and what would he answer we have waim akram in nehra and mcgrath in munaf and we have a good bowler in zak who too can play his part too, so we can defend 200 too

Old Dhoni is now converted into Mr. Average aka new Dhoni. once in a while he will score quick...I think he should bat higher up...he needs more time to settle in...I am sure we will see his old zing back. Most agressive knocks of his are while batting in the top order.

No issues with Dhoni's keeping. He has been v good. As a captain, he's too much of a realist and less of a dreamer. The most disappointing thing for me has been his lack of match awareness recently. Like in the last game, it was such an obviously bad choice to take a single off the first delivery of Steyn's overs and expose your tailenders. Not saying in hindsight but it just didn't look a right call to give the last over to Nehra. Nehra used to be a decent death bowler but that was quite sometime ago. He's been pretty awful in the last 10 ODIs he played.

^ Sure. But then if everyone is expected to come good, why not Dhoni? When is he going to come good with the bat? Scoring madly in a practice game and then taking singles in slog overs in a World Cup game has "haha" written all over it.

Man, people complain about everything. They never appreciate what they have, they always find something they don't have and complain about it. Dhoni is an asset. Be thankful. He started as a power hitter and could have become an Afridi if he had gone on trying to repeat that strike rate every match. But he had the brains to know it was not going to work. He still can change gears and hot when he wants to. His keeping has been top class. He has been one of the best keeper batsman around. Like PK said, look around and you will see examples of bad keepers. Just because he fumbled once does not mean that he has become a bad keeper all of a sudden. His catching has been superb, his stumpings are absolutely brilliant and he makes our pathetic fielders look good as he collects off target throws and dislodges the bails at lightening speed. What else do you expect him to do? Field placing: try placing filed to a bowler bowling all over the place and you will know how tough it is. No captain can place field for a bowler who can not bowl to the set field. No captain can close all the gaps on a cricket field. He should be given due credit that he still manages to win matches for India in spite of the average bowlers we have. His decision to pick Nehra for the last over backfired. Everything is always crystal clear in hind sight. With 13 needed in one over, the batsmen were always going to swing. It was always going to be a bit of a gamble and in this case, it just did not pay off. Give it a break. This team has won us many matches under this captain. In the last few years we have grown in leaps and bounds and have conquered heights that were mere dreams in the past. Stop being bitter at one loss. Everyone makes mistakes.

Agree with a lot of points which Domaink has made. For me, Dhoni the keeper > Dhoni the batter. Its his batting which is an issue for me. Rest all is quite good. Maybe Texy can chip in with his assertions on why he thinks that Dhoni is in the wrong.

For me the biggest strength of Dhoni has become his biggest weakness now... he has become too realistic and too calculative .. .like Mr. Cool as a cucumber.. crap.. .he is outliving his image now..in order to win the WC you can not just be a methodist ... at times you need to put your passion and gut feeling into the game...as well.....for Dhoni it seems he has become over matured and figured out media, fans, administrators, advertisers all too well.. and does not give a woot about them... since in the long run everything will fall within the normal curve..
