moumotta Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Presidential level security will be tested again if the plan proceeds at all. I don't think GOI will allow it though.

Passion Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I don't know why we keep on helping them out! Why should we send the team? Let someone else do so. For all our help all we have gotten is Kargil, attack on Indian Parliament and then attack on Mumbai. When will our politicians and BCCI ever learn that no matter what we do things will never change. Here are a couple of sayings that come to mind... 1. Kutte ki punch kabhi seedhi nahin hoti 2. Gai (Cow) jab punch uthayegi to gana nahin gayegi, gobar hi karegi :--D Abusive , offensive comments should not be tolerated. I Will alert mods on the forum
Sachin=GOD Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Abusive ' date=' offensive comments should not be tolerated. When will our politicians and BCCI ever learn that no matter what we do things will never change this is'nt exactly false, is it??
ganeshran Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 While the mods and rest of ICF have no love lost for Jabroni Patel, in his post he was repeating a well known proverb in hindi. But yes, personal attacks against a country or players should not tolerated
Karan114 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 While the mods and rest of ICF have no love lost for Jabroni Patel' date=' [b']in his post he was repeating a well known proverb in hindi. True. Though as someone whose heart beats for his South African team, something from Afrikaans might have been more appropriate :winky:

Ranvir Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 There have also been other sports competitions between Indian Punjab and Pakistan Punjab in the last decade, such as kabaddi and hockey. We share a very similar culture with Pakistani Punjabis, we speak the same language, eat the same food, the women wear the same clothes. I hope it goes well, I'm sure the team will be safe.

Ultimate_Game Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Abusive ' date=' offensive comments should not be tolerated. I Will alert mods on the forum[/quote'] What exactly is abusive about my post? I have used age old adages & proverbs which are commonly used in the northern part of the country. Now you will complain about sayings such as "bandar ke gale mein motiyon ka haar" or "bandar kya jaane adrak ka swad"? Pls try to to understand what the proverbs mean before raising such hue and cry... if you can't let me translate it for you... 1. Kutte ki punch one means a dog's tail won't straighten no matter what you do and in this context it means no matter how much India tries to help Pak, things won't change and Pak will continue to blame India for everything just like they came up with their weird theories that India was behind SL team attack and that India was behing Aamer/Butt/Asif match fixing saga. 2. Gai jab punch uthayegi is akin to saying that if a cow lifts its tail don't expect it to shower you with gold but expect cows**t. In this context the meaning is similar to no. 1, i.e., even if India helps Pak out don't expect any goodwill but more of the same as in BCCI never helps Pak, world cup was taken away from Pak coz of India etc. Now I defy anyone to say what I said was incorrect or that the sayings I mentioned are not used in Northern part of the country. Just coz the sayings have "dog" and "cow" mentioned doesn't mean they are abuses.

Midfielder Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Alright mate' date=' carry on spreading your hatred[/quote'] In all fairness he is not spreading hate. He is being cautious and I cant blame him. Once bitten twice shy.

No doubt those are proverbs and very widely used but yes those are 100% offensive and used ONLY in insulting manner...
pinkfreud Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 No doubt those are proverbs and very widely used but yes those are 100% offensive and used ONLY in insulting manner... To you perhaps, but not to us. Just because those phrases are offensive to Pakistanis here doesn't make them universally offensive. The same terms have been used even for our Indian team, so what's the hullabaloo about? People seriously need to stop getting hyper at the drop of a hat. @ Passion: Threatening to report something that's not even remotely out of line to the mods isn't going to magically turn things in your favour and change opinions in a heartbeat.
Midfielder Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Guys let us not get wound up. In anticipation of India winning it all I apologise to all my Pakistani friends if they have felt offeneded by any of these proverbs. Let us all enjoy it together, life is short and we are winning this cup.
