My second pick is SA.They have consistently played good ODI cricket over last 15 years but have nothing to show for it.I also happen to like their brand of cricket led by ABCD and Styen. I do believe Sachin have some unfinished business left from 96 semi when he did not deserve to lose that semi. +1

His ego will get so big I think he will put on another 30 pounds or so :haha: I used to back SA earlier but not after hearing Smith question India's Test ranking, taking shots at Tendulkar when he got to his 50th Tets 100 and moaning & b***hing about "under-prepared" tracks. The guy is a whinger and a sore loser in the same category as Sanga - a notch above Ponting.

I will be satisfied with any team winning as long as Australia gets knock out. Cricket needs some diversity at the top, Aussies winning again will just kill the excitement of ODI cricket for me.

It seems that the key to win the WC is to have a couple of really good spinners especiallly the fact that most of the pitches are spinner friendly. What about Stuart MacGill? It's really unfortunate that Nathan Hauritz got injured during the ODI series against England 2 months ago. Warne said that this dude has the potential to become the Aus's best spinner. Bad luck.

Seriously this is our best chance..A very strong side,home conditions,A maestro in supreme form.If we don't win now then I don't see in the near future as the rebuilding phase will begin most probably after this event.

First it was the 92 world cup farce when they were left needing 1 run of 22 balls because of rain. Then we all know what happened in 99 semi final. Once again in 2003 they missed out because of DL method in a qualifying match against SL. In 2007 they simply got thrashed in semi's against Australia so I won't count that one. They have always had a very strong team, but somehow they can't find a way to get through when it matters. Even this WC one would say that South Africa probably has the best team with strong batting and bowling.
