CSK Fan Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 jains (with all due respect to any in this forum) look down non-veg eaters a lot as far as i know. at the lunch time in school they look at non veg eaters as below human. but otherwise their behavior is alright. in the south, brahmins have cooled down a lot. they sit by the side and eat some veg dish, while i eat meat. True, most of the vegetarians I know in life are cool. it is some old guys who have denied me a living space in Bangalore and discriminated against me in general

No idea, observed many pets assimilated as part of a family, seen & heard untold amounts of happiness and sorrow expressed by some of them and some life saving and sacrificing contributions from them. No sane family I know could think of chopping up their pets for consumption. Maybe you in all your amazing wisdom should extent your digressive lecture on cultures and elaborate on the virtues of cannibalism and inform us on how 'different' your family tasted.

When people raise animals like pigs, turkeys, etc for slaughter, many of them (particularly kids) get attached to them. So what? Extremely hypocritical of human to think some animals are special and some not. Same goes with plants

Will they say, I will not give you my house for rent till you eat meat? I will not marry my daughter to you unless you eat meat? Will say you are going to hell or be born as an animal as you eat only veg? Will a non-veg person say shows and retail shops should be based only on non-vegetarians? Vegetarians are amongst the most close -minded and discriminating people in India. We might laugh at this, but this is a fact. Not renting out a house to those who eat meat is due to religious reasons. Say a Muslim (or anyone else for that matter) refuses to rent out his house to people who consume alcohol, that's a religious reason. Do you condemn that too? There are apartments in the US that don't allow pets. Is that discriminatory? As long as the owner has a valid reason (religious or otherwise) then what's the issue? A person who has raised his daughter as a vegetarian might not want her to marry a non-vegetarian. What's wrong with that? The problem would be if he forces his daughter to change her decision and physically obstructs her from choosing whom to marry. If he chooses to not accept her marriage or how he feels about it is his personal opinion and he's free to have one. Agree about the other points you've raised, they are discriminatory.

Only a dumbfeck would classify a service dog for a disabled individual in the same category as cattle. I guess the same smartarse thinks Navy Seals or Mumbai Police can use goat or turkey for their operations and chop it up once its old and useless :giggle:

I will tell you what is wrong with this The world has progressed at an incredible rate in the past few years. Information has boomed like never before. People who would have difficulty interacting with someone in the other street is now easily interacting with someone in the other hemisphere What are the implications of this? That we are coming more and more in contact with people who are completely different from us in every way. While earlier we used to lead very sheltered lives within our own community, interacting with our own people, it was very easy to laugh at those who were different However, in today's world the companies or people or nations which progress are the ones who are extremely integrated and accommodating. Who do not discriminate. I will give you a few examples. Say a new MNC opens in an Indian city like Mumbai or Bangalore. Or maybe a new startup. And a very bright youth wants to come to the city. But he eats meat and drinks alcohol. Now instead of trying to help out this bright youth to use his skills and contribute towards society, he will find that he has trouble getting a room for rent in the city! In a global world, those who are most accommodating will progress. Rather than having hang ups about on'es culture and religion, it is better to try to live with differences. As you can see from examples, the most important thing is the progress of human beings as one group. But such rigid stances will always inhibit the progress. They will compartmentalize talent and skills. When you reduce the talent pool from all human beings to just veg human beings as an example, the entire pool will shrink. India has to come out of these discrimination in order to progress as a nation. They very reason we are still so divided and stuck with our differences over so many decades is because we absolutely refuse to assimilate. A religion will marry within that religion, a caste will marry within that caste, someone speaking a language will only marry within that. There is zero compromise, not even 50-50. And we continue to be divided and segmented, never using our united strength to progress. BTW, it is no very far from - I will not give my house to a meat eater/alcohol drinker to I will not sell to meat eaters/alcohol drinkers or I will not employ meat-eaters/alcohol drinkers. I don't know why Indians tolerate such open discrimination. If you cannot be all accommodating, you have no rights to earn out of renting your house.

The latter is clear discrimination, and is quite far from the former. When you lend out a property to someone, you have the right to lay out your own set of rules. You don't want your property to be used in a particular way, then place your conditions. It is up to the borrower to accept them or not. In the apartment that I live in the following rules have been placed: - No pets allowed - No smoking allowed - No use of washing machines after 10 pm - Bursting firecrackers not allowed on the premises or near the building - No use of aluminum foil on top of cooktop and tonnes of other such conditions. Some of them make sense and some look outrageous, it'll vary from person to person. But all of this would look completely ridiculous if the same are applied while selling the property.

I'm from Romania where is 99.99% of people at that times, as you said, brainwashed that vegetarianism is evil. You don't know how miserable was my life those days. When all your family thinks that your are crazy and trying to "save" you from your "ignorance". Anyway it was more than 25 years ago and nowadays people in my country becoming much more broad-minded and almost all my family members share same principles of my life and stopped taking animals products. 11 years ago me and my wife with our daughter moved here in India and I'm really amazed how people here more and more looking at West and trying to imitate western lifestyle and catching up materialistic life values from which me with my family tried to escape :) India is amazing country with the most richest heritage and it is very sad to see how massively degradation becoming common and normal. And I love India and Indian people I really do, here is a lot wonderful and interesting people.

Because many theories which is form the base of modern science was disproved and very contradictory. So follow by scientists in a West nowadays 80% of all celebrities like: actors and actress, sportsman's, politics, businessmen are vegetarians. Just google it and you'll find millions of facts why meat eating is bad for you. She was so loving and cute so I can't describe! As soon as I got massage from you I called Mr. Banerjee and yesterday he invites us to visit his aviary and it was amazing! We spent 8 hours in a car all together and it was well worth it! Place are beautiful. Birds are amazing. So many species and sub species. I'm very impressed. And he is very nice person. My girls, (daughter and wife) got attached so much to one young cockatoo there so we booked her and now we are in a saving mode for a while :)))) He has few African Greys chicks but all of them was booked already. We took some photos and videos. Have you been there?
