fineleg Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Do you admire the way Pak's performance in the WC2011? (in group stage) Especially they had too many controversies prior to WC, and most ppl in ICF kept saying they are going to be sh . i.t.ty in this WC. Do you admire the way they have fought? Or are you too jealous, hate-filled or shy to admit it? Or if you just feel - no big deal, can you explain that as well. THIS IS JUST FOR GROUP STAGE MATCHES THUS FAR Do not bring in discussion that Q/F has not yet happened, S/F etc
fineleg Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 Made the poll anonymous since some Indian voters may be shy to admire Pak cricket thus far in the WC :D BTW - if you think ADMIRE is a strong word, then just think of it as 'wow! didnt think they'd do this good'
zen Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I didn't expect Pak to top its group, it did .... well played Pak!
fineleg Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 I didn't expect Pak to top its group' date=' it did .... well played Pak![/quote'] I agree. Did not expect. Well done Pak They beat SL and Aus - those 2 are still very much top contenders for WC2011 champions
zen Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 PS I don't know the purpose of this thread. Why so much analysis on Pak?
Karan114 Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 They have done well, for sure. Beating Lanka and especially Australia is no mean feat.
fineleg Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 rett, Not analysis, but just credit where credit is due
Lurker Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Nope. Personally I dont admire Pakistan's performance, I lament the performance(or lack thereof) of other teams. A team who opens with Kamran Akmal and Mohammed Hafeez in batting and Gul and Rehman in bowling is now the lead contender??? you kidding me.
Cricket_Guru Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 ^^^ you thinking Gul is a joker? afridi the leading wicket taker, gul not far behind, umar akmal, younis and misbah amongst the run getters. You have right to hate but not troll
hari504504 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 After losing one of their best bowlers and a solid opening bat... I was expecting them to crash and burn in the group stages. And they still have a speed demon and their best spinner sitting on the bench raring to go.. way to go neighbour !
NareshK Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 The way I see it, they have played 3 big games. Won 2 and lost 1. Good performance but nothing more. The batting still looks weak and can fall apart under pressure. So far the team to beat is SA. They seem to peaking at the right time.

The speed demon has passed his expiry date and I dont think he will play any part in the remaining competition. Who is this best spinner you are talking about ?
ZodiaC Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Very good performance by Pakis. Beating SL in SL and Aus. Never expected them to top the group.
nospam Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Finally! Can't believe Afridi is the one to lead Pakistan to Quarters after 12 years!
Watson87 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Afridi is my second favorite player after Watto. :D go pakistan dil dill pakistan
DomainK Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Pakistan has done much better than people expected. Though I don't think their performances have been extraordinary, they have done better than their opponents. So credit to them. I have a feeling that the team will soon reach the tipping point and explode. Afridi's shot last match has more significance than one would realize. They have done well so far because they have played as a team, which is quite uncharacteristic of them. And now with the captain leading the way, the team will soon resort back it's "me before the team" attitude and we will get to see some spectacular collapses yet again.
Debutant Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Have performed far more than I expected. They have played really well.:hatsoff::hatsoff:
