If and when England hosts another world cup, will they award the final to any stadium other than Lords? Don't bring in Eden Gardens..brought shame to the nation in '96 and failed to host an important match in this WC!
Lords' has the largest capacity of all grounds in England, forget about being one of the smallest. If you are worried about historical importance hold it in Brabourne. Your argument does not even start.

England will host the WC in 2019.

Whats next in Line' date=' Kolakata - which already held one, plus a final is more suitable for a metro IMO[/quote'] Delhi, Bangalore, Madras all have much larger capacities and have been recently renovated as well.

Fact is there is very little logical justification to hold the final of the World Cup in one of the smallest stadiums in India. He can't admit that Bombay was awarded the final because of Pawar's politics, so will have to come up with some flimsy excuse or the other. This just happens to be one of them. You can make out this is the case from the following statement :

Frankly, I think Haroon is just playing to the galleries and telling the media and the people of India what they want to hear. Also there's a very high liklihood that ICC doesn't get to make these decisions without having the BCCI's a-ok. The BCCI is the favorite Bahu of the lecherous old ICC.

Media and so many folks talk about match fixing / spot fixing. And here comes the head honcho saying things that would make it controversial than anything else. Hope these are not mind games to create advantage for his home country. ;-)
