hari504504 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Excellently paced innings when it mattered ! :hatsoff:
bear23 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I think he is being selfish and just playing for records
Rajiv Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 :hysterical: Had to pace it, worked hard to show that he's still got it
gult Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I think he is being selfish and just playing for records He is striking at ~90%. How is it selfish ?
King Tendulkar Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Honestly have to say that I thought it was a mediocre knock. Gritty yes, determined yes. Lacked class and frankly dont think he has put aussies in good position!
CSK Fan Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Honestly have to say that I thought it was a mediocre knock. Gritty yes' date=' determined yes. Lacked class and frankly dont think he has put aussies in good position![/quote'] To be frank, he didnt get much support from the other end. He must known a bit of what Sachin felt like in his lone innings'
Bradman99 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Surprised by some of these comments.. I thought he looked comfortable throughout and it was a great innings.
bulbul Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Finishing his career with a Very good innings..well done
Raghav_12 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Didn't watch complete innings but from look of things, it looks like an excellent innings. No doubt about that. Reminded me of another great innings in WC QF by a great player... http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65188.html Though I am sure it will not have same impact on the result of the match..
urbestfriend Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 One of the best innings of his career and a chance-less knock.
sarcastic Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I agree with most of the comments above that it was a great knock by Ponting:hatsoff: but unfortunately, it is not going to help his team win this match as INDIA is winning the match by a HUGE margin!!!!!!!:giggle::giggle: (at least as it seems now)
King Tendulkar Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Also Bravo Ponting for cheating in that appeal against Gambhir. It only bounced 10 meters in front of you. Bravo
hari504504 Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 ^ Very harsh man. He was saying he was unsure and he took it well in front of him, no way one could be sure - always better to refer in a quarter final !
ludhianvi Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Good knock under the circumstances... and held the Aussie innings together. Played some lovely shots there though was a bit lucky in the 90's not to go LBW off Harbhajan.
Bradman99 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Also Bravo Ponting for cheating in that appeal against Gambhir. It only bounced 10 meters in front of you. Bravo Bravo for being bitter.
yoda Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Excellent innings except for that one clear lbw late in his knock off harbhajan which we couldn't review.
hari504504 Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 In a losing cause with no support !.. he was inspired by Tendulkar.. now he knows how it feels to be the lil maestro !.. brave effort nonetheless..
Cricketics Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Well played Aussies and Ponting Great innings from Ponting. Perhaps the last game of his as captain in odi's.. well don't know really.. but he deserves all the credit for leading Australia to so many big games and playing match winning knocks in most of them. GREAT RUN FOR PONTING. INDIA ENDED IT.. BUT HATS OFF TO ONE OF THE GREATEST CRICKETERS OF OUR ERA.. RICKY PONTING WELL PLAYED PUNTER - :two_thumbs_up: - ONE OF THE GREATEST
