Cricket Tragic Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Fine knock, indeed. As a batsman, he held the innings together and gave the bowlers a pretty good total to bowl at. Not his fault if the bowlers screw up.
Midfielder Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I have always admired Aussies. They are the best athletes all around.
Jersey #10 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Ponting apni biwi se: Mujhe chai to dena.. Biwi ne plate me chai daal ke di. Ponting (ghusse se bola): Cup mein daal ke do! Biwi: CUP to tera Baap Dhoni le gaya isi me peene ki aadat daal..
gaurav92 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 ^Lame joke :finger: Yes, well played Ponting and Australia, they did fight hard till the very end, and thats what Australia is all about.
flamy Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Fantastic knock by Ponting and amazing spirit by Lee. Well played guys. Always love Ind-Aus contests.
Aaku Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Ponting apni biwi se: Mujhe chai to dena.. Biwi ne plate me chai daal ke di. Ponting (ghusse se bola): Cup mein daal ke do! Biwi: CUP to tera Baap Dhoni le gaya isi me peene ki aadat daal..
ravishingravi Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Yes one of the greatest players ever who was fortunate enough to lead a great team he inherited and probably unfortunate to rebuild a team which has to deal with its standing today in world cricket. Take a bow sir. Hope he plays for a year
pinkfreud Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 A very good captain's knock from Ponting who led from the front. I wish Dhoni could do the same- but even then, Ponting just couldn't resist acting like a turd when he claimed that Sachin catch. The pick of the Aussies yesterday apart from Ponting for me? Brett Lee. That guy displayed true grit and gumption and deserves to be lauded; and I didn't see him stopping low like the others even when the odds were against them.
achilles Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Great game. They put up a good fight with a mediocre/weak unit. Only Australia could've done that. Ponting apni biwi se: Mujhe chai to dena.. Biwi ne plate me chai daal ke di. Ponting (ghusse se bola): Cup mein daal ke do! Biwi: CUP to tera Baap Dhoni le gaya isi me peene ki aadat daal.. This message has become an absolute rage. I received this sms from a lot friends of mine and I've been fwding it around it. Lets hope it reaches Australia, as the movement desires :haha:
ghost Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Yeah, well-played aussies ( as if other teams are not playing well:rolleyes:) Now, go back to Australia and have a few beers !
vpg0002 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 what is this nonsense from media singing praises of Ponting for scoring 100 in a lost cause' date=' where as sachin gets killed by the same press/fans for not seeing India thru to a win as if it was his fault Indian bowlers leaked runs and lost those matches.[/quote'] Very true. Maybe the expectation that it involves Sachin and it should be nothing less than a win. :winky:
DomainK Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 It might not look very highly classy, but it was a very classy knock. A great batsman out of form and low on confidence brings in all his experience, patience and skills together desperate to deliver at a moment his team needs it. Yes, he did not hit too many breathtaking boundaries, but the way the innings was constructed is a lesson to batsmen on how you bat when you are out of form.
Hell Raiser Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Brilliant century by Ponting. Sadly for him that it goes in vain but great effort none the less.
b555 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 In the end it doesnt even matter, he had to fall to lose it all :aha:
spectre Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 One of the greatest ever! finished it off with a brilliant innings. One among the very few players i love watching them bat.
Sachin=GOD Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 He fought a lot of battles first his form, then rumors about his captaincy, a spinning pitch which is not his forte and then the reality that his team is no where good as it used to be. He knew that he had to deliver today to even make a match of it and how well he delivered. I have always been biased wrt Punter because of my SRT loyalty but man i have to admit that it was a champion knock by Ricky and that actually showed how fiercely competitive this guy is. Great stuff from a great player! :hatsoff: +1 okay. When you consider that he was playing abroad' date=' leading the side, knock out game in the WC, with wickets falling at regular intervals to play like that and get to a chanceless century it indeed is a fabulous knock.[/quote'] okay.
