girishk14 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 They just need a stronger tail, U cant have a 6-man tail (considering how du pleiss is an inexperienced all rounder), aging kallis, out of form smith, and then expect the other three to do all the work. They really miss boucher and morkel
Switchblade Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I think Duminy or Botha would make good captains. Botha is a non-brainer' date=' having been groomed a bit and Duminy can be a darkhorse in the run to captaincy.[/quote'] Think A.B is the guy who may get the job of skipper
putrevus Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 They paid price for their stupidity, every other team in this cup is fighting to find five good bowlers they had Kallis and Duminy and still they played three spinners for reasons know only to them . They ended bowling kallis for just 3 overs in which he gave up 5 measly runs. they had a very long tail which ultimately caused panic and ultimately their downfall. Just because Botha and Peterson swung away from their hip and hit some sixes against India they don't become batsman. Those two hitting those sixes caused more harm than good for them. Every member of their team was talking how they did not choke against India and they are no longer Chokers. Those statements itself shows how much they think about their choking. It is a pity since they had man for man best team in this world cup. They covered all basis spin, speed, fielding everything.

achilles Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Think A.B is the guy who may get the job of skipper AB is the master politician of their team. Plays a lot of politics, as was pointed out by Herschelle Gibbs.
Bublu Bhuyan Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 AB is the master politician of their team. Plays a lot of politics' date=' as was pointed out by Herschelle Gibbs.[/quote'] Really? What did Gibbsy say?
achilles Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Really? What did Gibbsy say? He said that Smithy, Kallis, Boucher and AB had a bit of a clique and were like the big-boys of the team, who would decide everything and were like the bullies.
achilles Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 And I think we now know why he's not gonna be playing for SA again. Although he did 'retire' on paper, the real reason would've been the tell-all tale.
glogirl Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 once chokers always a chokers. they proved it. seriously i thought they might win this world cup but i think they were overconfident.
youngindia Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 To thos who follow football' date=' it was a similar situation with Spain (maybe not quite as bad) .[/quote'] Spain had superior talent than usual.you can call its greatest generation.that's why it broke the stranglehold of the "big five" and its style of "total possession" caused a lot of problems to rivals like germany. There are cricketing reasons why SA fails-it should value high class specialists (australia and WI based their huge success on specialists) something woolmer was poor at and even subsequent SA sides have included average allrounders instead ofa strike bowler or a batsman.they don't have a third strike bowler in the class of steyn and morkel anyway. they are missing one more class bowler and batsman i reckon. they were batting with a long tail with botha at no7. this suicidal strategy is bound to be exposed over 6-9 matches. it required incredible amount of luck to have hide it for so long.
