ganeshran Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Celebrations near my home. image is kinda blurred but the atmosphere was electric. This was at a busy road intersection
youngindia Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 just some crackers. but to me its all over the top.i feel we are supposed to set our sights much higher and to have some perspective it was over a sixth ranked side that has a lot of holes in their cricket. As long as we don't mess up big time, we are expected to win. this was the weakest pakistani team we have played in a world cup. To me it was lose -lose today. because after putting in mammoth effort to slay australia, which was this time a dangerous bowling/fielding side, it would have been a disgrace to lose now. generally speaking , sporting standards in india have to get much higher than present .
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 living on the east coast of the USA makes it hard, but my phone went off the hook with text messages. i am getting txts from ppl that dont even watch cricket. everybody was tuned in today. i took the day off and watched the whole thing on my laptop in a manhattan starbucks, awkward stuff Varun is stuck at home in London cuz he called 10 taxi vaale and no one is picking up the phone :P LMAOOOOOOOOOOO :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

Mariyam Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Just got back 15 mins ago. Crazy celebrations here in Mumbai. Crackers, people honking car horns( I'm guilty as charged).... people dancing. I think I got back home too early. Holy, DK and others in Mumbai... go to Bachelor's juicewala ( outside Grant road station, opp H20). I was there at around 12 :30 and he was distributing juice free of charge and big party going on there. Said he woudl do that till he runs out of stock. Now I doubt his being Gujju. Some of my friends and others threw juice on a reporter ( news x, I think) when he was covering the celebrations live, all in good spirits. Later cops came and confiscated the crackers. Who cares. I bought a mini India flag, a Dhoni mask and a sticker of Tendulkar for the car all off the road. Got fleeced big time but who cares. Nooranis I heard would be open till late night, and also that famous chaat centre at Kemps corner. Hadn't seen such a spontaneous outburst of emotions even after the t-20 win. I'm too drained/wasted/happy to think straight.:isalute: :icflove: to all
f.b.m Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 The Celebrations Thread Just had the best celebration for a cricket match. I watched the match with 15-20 friends and all of them were Indians except one girl who is a Pakistani international player. Credit to her because she took it very sportingly. After the match about 30 people joined in and went out onto the streets with India jerseys, India flags and a massive dhol. Every taxi was honking at us and we all shouted "India Zindabad, Bharat mata ki jai, etc" all through town as we danced and bhangra-ed through the streets. :isalute: \\\\o//// Edit: Please merge this with the other celebrations thread.
