Wrong. The rain halt came in the 22nd over when Paksitan were 74/2 still requiring 139 in 28 overs @ 5 an over. It was by no means a won game for Pakistan. On the other hand Paksitan were all out for 74 and would have definitely lost the game against England.
We were 135/2 fact.Yes we were 74/2 after 21 and had moved to 135/2.Them 60 runs were not added by aliens.Fact is we lost by 18 runs and they robbed 14 over and knocked only 18 runs off target. Fall of wickets1-50 (Aamer Sohail), 2-50 (Zahid Fazal), 3-135 (Inzamam-ul-Haq) Applying your logic how were Eng might have def winners in the other game?

I am just saying that when the rain halt happened Paksitan were not in a clearly won position. The progression from 74 to 135 is part of the poat rain interruption/ new target game. You can't therefore argue you lost 2 points because of it, where as a point in a lost game against England did help your guys qualify.

Chasing 74 in 50 overs, just a gut feel England would have won.:winky:

Ex-pakistani player's played into our hands. One one end we have miandad ranting about india being mentally weak and scared of Akthar(on TIMES NOW channel) and on the other hand we had Mr.Overconfident Imran khan with his valuable prescription of sleeping pills for our team. Whereas our seniors like Gavaskar, Anil Kumble sayig nothing more than "India has the better balanced team".

Imran is so smug...on NDTV whenever Allan Border is on there he keeps crying about injuries in 1987 insisting Pakistan would have won the world cup..get over it...you didnt win 20 years ago and you shouldnt have even won in 1992 since you barely survived the group stage. Sleeping pills he talks about 1987 when he was up all night thinking of combinations and scenarios for the semifinals maybe he should have taken his own sleeping pills.....

Imran Khan is overrated, why does he take so much credit for winning the world cup, he was a pathetic player, I saw the scorecard of the finals and semis, he could have lost Pakistan the game. I think Inzamam and Wasim were the sole reasons why they won, Imran should give credit to them, also someone told me that he never mentioned about the team and in his presentation after the final it was "I I I" the guy doesn't deserve all these praises.

Imran talks nonsense most of the time and gets away with it because he is Imran Khan. He can say whatever he wants in Pakistan because he is the only Pakistani leader who distinguished himself with the strength of his character & acheivements. He may be a legend as a cricketer, but his insights on the game and the players are total bakwaas. Like someone said, he needs to go check some facts before he mouths off his inane comments. That said, the 1992 world cup win was not a fluke by any means. It was a brilliant Pakistani team that won the games that mattered & the cup. While Imran contributed to it with his leadership, attributing as much credit to him as Pak fans do, is symptomatic of how starved Pakistan is of good leadership.

To see what kind of tool he is you should watch 96 QF. When Amir Sohail hits a boundary and challenges Prasad, he is proudly saying, "how Amir is competitive and challenging the bowler etc etc". During this time, Shastri is quite... and next ball when he gets out.. he is so pissed off and disappointed.."saying pakistan lost a wicket because of Amir's stupidity"... Shastri is rubbing it in... "This is the best way a bowler can reply"...:haha::hysterical:

he is simple plain stupid as a pundit/analyst. He puts his patriot first and then analyst. while you are analyst , you should be an analyst. if you are getting carried away by patriotism then you are bringing disgust to your nation, because people will say what a crap analyst from pakistan he is.

Here's Imran Khan's biggest gem. Mind you, he said this in about 1999/2000 when Tendulkar was the best batsman in the world by a mile with no one even near by him. Lara used to average below 49, and Inzamam used to average below 45 at that point, while Tendulkar averaged almost 58. It was around that point of time when Don Bradman invited Tendulkar to his birthday party. Every Tom, Dick and Harry was rating him the best ever after Bradman at that point.

The moment I saw Tendulkar batting at Karachi I thought he has a long career ahead of him. He was a young bloke, but batted with lots of patience and technically he was very sound. He built his innings very solidly and never gave away his wicket. Bowlers had to work hard to force him make a mistake. But still I believe Inzamam-ul Haq is a better batsman than Tendulkar. I stood by my words when I last compared Tendulkar with Inzamam in the 1992 World Cup. The only difference between Inzy and Tendulkar is that Tendulkar has lots of temperament in Test cricket, otherwise I think Inzamam plays fast and spin bowlers better than Tendulkar. I agree that Tendulkar has around 30-odd centuries in one-day Internationals but how many one-day internationals India has won in which Tendulkar has scored centuries. On the other hand, Inzamam's 11-odd centuries came at a time when Pakistan needed a big knock from him and he delivered for his country.

Imran the cricketer and captain is def not overrated. As a Pundit and politician I don't know.
Any sane fan would know that. The problem is that he has this habit of making an idiot out of himself. My above post is the perfect example. Any former and current player would burst out laughing upon reading what he said.

Imran Khan always puts Inzamam two steps ahead of Tendulkar in terms of talent and ability . Whenever there is a talk about Tendulkar he somehow brings in Inzamam and claims that Inzamam is/was a match winner and scored his runs when his team was in trouble unlike Tendulkar who scores runs when the game is in his teams favour and not crunch situations . Ever wondered from where do these dumb Piggistani fans often come up with superiority claims of Inzamam?

I've never liked this guy, he's full of arogance and double standards. He seems to claim that he cares a lot about Pakistan and is proud to be a Pakistani but he married an English woman who was 20 years younger than him and he also has a lovechild with another gori. This isn't exactly setting a good example to people. You can just tell he thinks he's better than everyone else, he is not a man of the people like he claims he is.
So someone who dares to marry a younger person of different skin color doesn't love their country. What a dumb***** bigot you are.

Hate this guy... I still remember watchin his interview where he said Pakistani men are superior than Indian and how Indian girls used to go gaga over Pakistani cricketers while his Indian cricketer friends used to complain about it ...Bullsh!t!! This guy lives in his whole world.. Kapil was always humble and down to ground person...

Imran is finding words hard to find. I am no so called cricket expert but I do understand it bit but I stll can summarise the Indian win in 2 sentences " Pakistan did not field well and their batting order did not adjust to demands of the situation whereas Indian battters adjusted their game when they realised its not a 300 but 250 run pitch" and the second sentence would be " India bowled and fielded better " . I am sure the second sentence is difficult one for Pakistani and Imran in general to accept or say. It would be considered unpatriotic I guess.:yay:

Of all the experts this guy irked me the most ' date=' he was saying Indian team should take sleeping pills and ridiculed[b'] Indian bowling. He played two of most useless odi knocks in semis and finals of 1992 but he was lucky he had Inzi and Wasim to bail him out .He goes and trumpets how he won the cup for them in 1992. This policy of keeping wickets till the end and then unleash guys like Razaaq was started by him only .Pakistan has always lived and died by this sword. I don't think Misbah was doing anything different but he is being slaughtered in Pakistan. He becomes hero for Pakistan where as Misbah becomes zero.Even today after the loss he was saying Misbah or Younis should have come up the order and that would have averted pressure on Pakistan. What a clown.
Mate, just face it, India's bowling attack is hopeless and btw Imran knows what he's on about, respect the man. :two_thumbs_up:
