But after becoming the captain' date=' hes become a total defensive player. [b']it alsmot looks like he is playing for stats than wins. Grow up man!! He's out of form its as simple as that. Why do we need to bring in extra terrestrial motives into this?? And as far as his batting goes, yes he's been out of form but he did make a few very good contributions with the bat in the test series against SA in SA.
saneindian Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Overall Dhoni has a much better ODI record than Sanga. Though Dhoni's bad patch in the last 6-9 months has coincided with Sanga's peak as an ODI batsman. On present form Sanga is obviously a better keeper-batsman. But this will not matter as MSD will show who is the boss when it really matters on Saturday :--D

As a captain , Dhoni's ststs read 101 matches, 3481 runs@51.2 with a SR of 81.75 Sanga's career strike rate in ODIs is 75. Maybe by your logic, Sanga has been a defensive batsman all his life and has been playing for stats!!

But Id say both are equally good. As per batting, in ODIs Dhoni is much more consistant though hasnt done anything in htis WC. Sanga is in a different class when it comes to Tests.

Dhoni plays for stats - seriously, is he actually a 48.8 avg batsman the way hes been playing for the past few years?? Coming down low, getting many not outs to boost his avg. Sanga is ready to take risks for his team even if hes on 90

Zap_Brannigan Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Both excel over other in certain areas. Sanga can dive and is otherwise very solid. But Dhoni, is really quick with this hands as he doesn't move his hands back as much as other keepers. Considering the bowling line up, both are apt i.e. big turners and swing bowlers need sanga while others need Dhoni.
