satyam1729 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 ICC confirms 10 teams for next two World Cups http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci-icc/content/current/story/509530.html
Sachin=GOD Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 In other words, the ICC had decided that it does not want to expand the game of cricket and does not want to make the game reach out to more countries.
Misu243 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 That is pathetic. No appreciation for Kevin O'Brien, Ten Doeschate, Collins Obuya, Dockrell etc...
phaedrus Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 really feel for irish cricket right now. they deserve to be there way more than Zimbabwe. they should have had qualifiers for the last couple of spots. where do they go from now on? :((
The Outsider Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Good job. No point in watching useless minnows being hammered for the 1-2 upsets in the entire tournament.
BERGKAMP Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Good job. No point in watching useless minnows being hammered for the 1-2 upsets in the entire tournament.
flamy Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 who are the other two teams? remove zimbabwe and bring in ireland
Sachin=GOD Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 who are the other two teams? remove zimbabwe and bring in ireland :agree: Zimbabwe cricket is going nowhere, either they should improve or be replaced with Ireland which is a far better team.
someone Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Good job. No point in watching useless minnows being hammered for the 1-2 upsets in the entire tournament. Rubbish aurgument These so called minnows have already proved they are capable of challenging all the matches. And what is your opinion regarding India's inclusion in Olympics, why have useless minnow being disqualified and hammered in Olympics all the time.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Good job. No point in watching useless minnows being hammered for the 1-2 upsets in the entire tournament. yup - the same minnows that led to India and Pakistan's ouster in the 2007 WC and nearly led to England also being out in 2011 in the 1st round :hatsoff:
Show_stopper Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 So are going to have QFs? or is it back to super 6 format? Guys also keep in mind the WC will take place in Australia/NZ. IIRC they had problems finding sponsors so this WC was shifted to subcontinent. I think this aspect influenced the ICC's decision.

You guys can enjoy watching the skills of Kenya, UAE, and Canada there.
MumbaiIndian Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It's pretty straight from ICC, they don't need more teams around the world. They don't care. What makes me sad is Ireland cannot play the next world cup after their smart cricket play in 2011 World Cup. Though in reality, there has always been these 10 full members playing the best quality of cricket for years and years. Still I would back the minnows as this is totally unfair!
vvvslaxman Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 Ireland deserves a nod ahead of Zimboks. 12 teams would have been better removing Kanya and cenada.
someone Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Don't worry the World Tontee Tontee will have 16 teams. You guys can enjoy watching the skills of Kenya' date=' UAE, and Canada there.[/quote'] You still did not answer my question.
Cricket Tragic Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Why is there no qualification for 2015? Zimbabwe don't deserve a guaranteed spot.
jibranpatel15 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 it had to be 12 rather than 10. Its clearly unfair to under rate Irish. The way they played this WC they deserve to be in 2015. It will be better if there is qualification between 9-12 teams.
