Raghav_12 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Yep YouTube - Sachin Tendulkar 146 v South Africa, 3rd Test 2010/11 In between awesome, scintillating stroke play there in video clip. Thanks for posting.
zen Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Relatively, our guys are not that great when the short pitched ball is directed towards the body .... In limited overs cricket, you can get away with a few dot balls but in tests, you can leave those balls so I don't know how much pressure short pitched stuff would create on us .... And as someone said, bowling too much short pitch stuff could be counter productive too There are some tags some teams have to live with unless they manage to dominate and change people's perception .... Facing short pitched stuff, you can't get bowled or lbw or the slips don't come into play much (except the leg one). Most likely you would get out if you play a bad shot. Ind cricketers should take that as a positive and not be ruffled by short pitched stuff :winky:
Anakin Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Bring it on. Bouncers won't get the Ind batsmen out. It's the swing that I'm concerned about, specially for Veeru.
Andy Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Bring it on. Bouncers won't get the Ind batsmen out. It's the swing that I'm concerned about' date=' specially for Veeru.[/quote'] Yes very much.
BeautifulGame Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 England batsmen are worst in playing in bouncy wickets. The last time they played in Perth and wanderers they were humiliated They are just insecure nothing else .
NareshK Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 They dont have to prove anything. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/463147.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/291353.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/engvind/engine/current/match/258469.html Let haters hate.
akshayxyz Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Let them do all the talking. That will make victory even sweeter.
panesarv Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Its actually good that they think that. It means that they will pitch the ball forward on lesser occasions; hence, less wicket-taking balls!
achilles Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 What is it going to take to stop other teams thinking we can't play the short ball ? Ans. Our players improving their techniques.
Stuge Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Well ,we know how good these English people are against Spin attack .
phaedrus Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 i think Gambhir has silenced the critics with his consistant performance in South Africa. Yusuf was a surprise for most as well. Its for the likes of Raina, Yuvraj and Rohit Sharma to do the same.
