Should Praveen kumar be taken to England ?

At least with Praveen we know his history in ODIs indicates whenever the balls swings he's accurate, consistent and gets wickets. That means two spells at least (one with the new ball, another with the 2nd new ball) where PK would be right on target. And even when the ball stops swinging we know Praveen is at least more economical than Sree who routinely gives away at least one boundary ball an over.
Yeah, I pretty much nailed that one. :haha:

Timely bump. Amusing to see some posters making fun of PK in thread but after his debut test performances, having his as the main seamer alongside Zak and Lambu for England.

because we do not have any better option than him right now...Sreeshanth...no

We might have more in the squad but I would play 3 seamers for every Test. Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan, Sreesanth. All have decent pace and could cause problems on English wickets. Harbhajan to take the spinners spot bearing in mind Yuvi will almost certainly play and act as a 5th bowler. Still unconvinced about Praveen kumar. Say what you like about Sreesanth (and many do) but he is one determined ****er. He's a prime example of how an average bowler can be effective if they have lots of aggression and will-power.

Hes a bit of an embarresing pick TBH, hes like Jonathon Trott, Collingwood or Iand Bell bowling but with a bit more control.

Swing in the air and off the pitch always trouble batsman Specially out swing if it lands in the right area

Quite rightly so, well for the past 10 years or most of it.

I would reserve my comment for this after the 3 tests. Judging him based on 1 test on a bowler friendly wicket against the most weak batting line up out there is too quick. He did bowl excellently though, not taking anything away from him, would like to see if he is consistent all throughout the series.

Boom! Another wicket for Praveen, that's five so far in his maiden test. Praveen is a lot like Sreesanth, except he has brilliant control, accuracy, swings the ball both ways and a far better attitude.

pk is a must in england should leave munna and get pk in the squad having pk is advantage his run up is short we can go with four fast bowlers also dhoni need not beg to shreesanth every time to concentrate on the game not to waste time no probs of slow over rate

Yes Yes and Yes... Has to go, He is a perfect third seamer.. One Left handed, one right arm fast medium and one Swing Bowler.. perfect for ENGLAND conditions

6 top order wickets in his debut test. Got wickets with the new and old ball and hardly gave away any runs.
Was a good performance. He has two more Tests to stay fit and bowl well. If he continues to bowl like this and have no more pitch running issues, we cannot reject him for England. The opportunity is there for him to take.
