I am trying to think if there has ever been a bigger build up to a cricket game than this one. Especially after the national Anthems. Purely by cricketing logic you back India to win based on their perfomances over last 4 years. But the pressure on this team for this match was absolutely mind boggling. You have to have some serious mettle to get through this kind of tension and expectation at your home ground with a match so hyped. These people are truly exceptional. I can't think of more electrifying moments on cricket ground than this one. t6lHJ5z0AH0&feature=related

The song when the players come out is "Conquest of paradise".... If you guys are going to youtube it...a word of advice from me. It is f**king addictive. I cannot get it out of my system.B->

^couldn't agree more. Somebody on YT commented that they have taken song from Koyla :))
I saw that. But "Conquest of Pradise is very old" On the same note though, most of Indian movie music of 90s can be tracked back to great songs and music. :giggle:

Nice video. The anthems always feel special. One point to ponder: the anthems of both the countries have words that are absolutely not used in daily life. The anthems are in a language that the common man doesn't readily associate with or easily understand. The anthems of USA or UK are pretty easy to understand for the average resident of those countries as the words are in common usage. What does that tell us about the mentality/ aspirations/ idea of utopia of those who wrote the anthems? In India's case its always going to be difficult to have an anthem that everyone understands. But this is one that is high class literature and not even easily understood by Bengali speakers ( or so I hear). That kind of literature doesn't have much mass appeal or understanding. Ditto with Pakistan's anthem. Some of the words are so 'bookish'. Their anthem sounds more Farsi than Urdu. PS: this is not a critique of the anthem.

^Yeah I am not very big on national anthems. But I realized now how important and significant it was esp. for Pakistani fans to have their national anthems be heard in India. Tells you a lot about our equation with neighbours.
