Top talent like Rahane, Pankaj Singh, Chahar are sitting out while guys like Yagnik, Raut Amit Singh keep getting games. They need to get Rahane and Pankaj Singh in and also Drop Tait for Botha. Ppl give Warne too much credit and decisions like sitting Rahane and Chahae in favor of Asnodkar and Amit Singh tells a different story altogether. I suspect Warne doesn't even know the squad he has and what the players are capable of. Maybe he should check the players' cricinfo profile page to get a better idea about HIS team. And decisions like not opening with Watson and pushing Taylor down the order while chasing a mammoth total portray him in a very poor light indeed. It was a good decesion to include asnodkar & Keeper in place of Paunikar who s u c k e d all 4 matches. But his decesion to open with RD while chasing 196 was stupidity. Also Had 2 over of Watson & Tait each when March was striking big & he didn't bother bring them back instead kept them for last 4 overs where they already scored 169 after 15 overs itself. He himself is struggling as he gave away 50/1 in his 4 overs & with Trivedi 59/0 so total makes it 109 in 8 overs while Tait & watson went at 20 & 24 respecrively & 5 wkts in BTW them aswell. This shows hom much Rajastha sucks without him & he is the only batsmen not to be dismissed in this IPL 4 till date. Warne has got to play him at any cost man. I dont understand his fascination with virtual unknowns and ignore proper FC players. Also you are right he probably does not know his full squad and their past records. Rather they should play Pankaj Singh who is much faster than trundlers like Trivedi. As far as Rahane, I think he has no place in the lineup with Dravid playing at the top. I will give him credit for being innovative and trying new things but again he is far too conservative in this way, leaving his best players in lower order just to prevent the inevitable.( Instead out them potentially getting out early overs, they get out in mid overs when already the required rate is higher thus more pressure only on themselves) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
