What do you think of Manmohan Singh as a statesman and PM of India ? ( NOT ECONOMIST)

I am coming to hate this guy who is undoubtedly India's biggest wimp of a PM. His soft stance towards Pakistan and constant willingness to resume talks inspite of no pressure from any apparent source stinks of a man who has everything on his CV but wants a Nobel Peace Prize. Within 6 months of the brutal Mumbai attacks that shamed, embarrassed and humiliated all of India, this ******* hijda PM was itching to have back channel talks with Pakistan. MMS is undoubtedly India's weakest PM and a pathetic statesman. This as$.HOLEs reaction to the mega loot and plunder corruption scandals under Kangress are so utterly disgraceful. A proven successful economist who has played a role in the liberalization of Indian economy, but as a statesman this hijda is no better than Zardari. This ghulam ******* keeps begging his " Rahul baba" to join Central govt Cabinet, when his only qualification is that he is Sonia Gandhi's son.

Agree. I do not rate him highly at all as a PM. In UPA 1 he was on the mercy of Left and in UPA 2 its DMK. The way he supported guys like A Raja and CVC Thomas till the very end until the supreme court literally forced him to take some action was quite pathetic. Also, one of the things which I found to completely and absolutely disgusting was when there were farmers dying of hunger in some parts of the country and on the other hand there were crops getting rotten in Punjab/Haryana but they were not distributed to the farmers because the Govt would have had to incur cost on it. As for 26/11 and India's reaction to it - the less said the better. For the last 12-15 months the only thing we've been doing is complaining to America that Pakistan does not do this and Pakistan does not do that - doesn't have the b@lls to take any action himself so everytime he goes begging to USA with fresh complaints of Pakistan's actions  I very much respect his contributions as an economist but as a politician he's useless. But even then I wouldn't want him to resign because that would mean Rahul Gandhi would be PM  such is the sad reality of India. People like Rahul Baba get to be heir apparent simply by virtue of being born in a particular family.

dont know what you guys ar on about... in the last 8 years or so india have become a relatively strong economy. even though there's huge income disparity but atleast there is overalll increase of wealth in the country. India has been churning out more and more millionaires and there is foreign investment and whatnot... He has changed the face of India methinks

That overall increase in wealth is coming only from a select few HNWIs (High Net Worth Individuals) - what about the rest of the country?? As someone rightly said after this year's Union Budget - "yeh budget 125 crore logon ke liye nahi bana hai, sirf 125 industrialists ke liye bana hai".

Disappointed in him. There is little doubt that he is one of the greatest minds out there. Reforms of 1992 were fundamental for India "growth" story. But the Party he is in, there is not much scope for anybody who is not willing to grovel in front of Gandhis. Truth is if he becomes his own man,he won't be a PM no more.

As a PM MMS is a puppet for sure but as a statesman and as a human being he is better than most politicians in India. If he was a PM with full powers without being a puppet then maybe he would have been one of the best PM India ever had if not the best. He is good in foreign policy, good economist and highly intellectual and good person overall and has better overall credentials than 99% of Indian politicians. But right now he is a puppet and that exactly describes his position. He was far more effective when he was finance minister than he is now. To be frank, no politician or political party is good today and all are corrupt and biggest scums on earth. But he is better than most. However, I hope that a good bunch of politicians and a selfless non-corrupt and non-votebank based political party emerges soon though I have very less hope. Current political parties and politicians are corrupt from the ground root levels to improve. So, a fresh national party with clean roots and organization needs to emerge

The hate towards MS is OTT. He should be stronger but he is a decent person who is doing not that bad. India is a very complicated country to govern. Rather have him then mayawati in charge. So just be grateful

Not many alternatives, are there? As for him being weak, which PM has ever taken any descisive action against Pakistan? I would say Khandar was the weakest and gutless thing any PM has ever done. When in oppostion, its easy to be brave, once in power, all are same

To be honest, he seems like a common man just like us. He knows the problems really well, not currupt but he is just unable to do anything because of the "system". It is easy to say for us(just like Manmohan) that if I become PM, I will do this or that, but in reality it does not happen in a gutless country like India.
