Hate to say it but Mumbai's problem is captaincy not the talent level on the team... a team with Zaheer' date=' Malinga and Harbhajan as bowlers, Tendulkar, Uthappa, Pollard, Rayudu, Tiwari, Duminy, Shikhar Dhawan etc. as batsmen should have done much better than what they have done so far (I am talking the first 3 seasons and that's why I mentioned these players). Given the same amount of talent at somebody like Dhoni's disposal would have been a different story altogether. Tendulkar is not a good captain. Period. He should give up captaincy and simply play as an icon batsman in the team.[/quote'] Obviously you havent followed the first two seasons of IPL at all because your post is full of inaacuracies. We did see in season one what Mumbai was capable of without Sachin as a captaina dn what they did once he was back. Also since when did Zaheer and Harbhajan become great T20 bowlers. Zaheer has been decent at best and Harbhajan has been outbolwed by most other bowlers in the previous seasons?

Very funny that people have come out in defending Mumbai Indians. Terrible excuses They have been poor in IPL, have yet to win the title, were among the last spots in the 2 editions. Some bad captaincy and decisions were the reason. While CSK has been one of the best, 2 finals, the first one RR was favorities and they won the 2nd final despite being underdogs

They haven't been all that poor in IPL as you have made them to be, they have won the highest matches in IPL all seasons put together(I think its joint highest with CSK, but they will race ahead this time). In IPL 1 despite missing Sachin, Bhajji for half IPL we missed the semis by 1 point. Agreed CSK has the better captain and have done well, but MI have a vastly superior team and will surely go to Finals this time , and CSK's chances dont look too bright this time for them to make it even to the playoffs:giggle:

So people now are completely over rating MI. They have to prove as much as the other teams. No point in making excuses as only losers make excuses, winners like RR who no one expected to even win a single match do the talking on the pitch by winning the IPL itself.

Isnt the great Tirumalasetti 'Telugu Hulk' Suman a part of the MI squad. And does anyone really want to tell me that they couldnt find a better cricketer than Satish?

chalo finally from a 1man army they are now a 4man army :nice:
I wouldn't say 4 man army. Symonds is far from his best. Rohit is going to be inconsistent. Basically it is still an one man army with a bit of support from Rayudu.

4-men or 1-man, we continue to rule the season. What are the other teams doing so many so called men? Nada! Don't count the players. Count the success.

Quoting this so that YoungIndia reads it in case he's missed it/ ignored it.

MI's real success lies in their bowling not in their batting thanks to Malinga.
Munaf has hardly had a match where he has given more than 6 an over!! now would you beleive it!! Still :mi: tops the table with wonly 4 batsmen!! B-> B->

4 batsmen plus contributions from people like pollard is more than enough in a format like T20. which other team has more than 3-4 batsmen performing anyway ? Kochi-McCullum,Mahela, Jadeja DD- Sehwag, Warner, Venu CSK - hussey, Badri, Raina, Dhoni KKR- Kallis, Gambhir, Tiwari DC- Sanga RCB- Gayle, Kohli, Devilliers PW- Ryder, Uv, Uthappa KXIP - Gilly, Valthaty, MArsh RR- Watson, Botha

you kiddin ? Pollard is a T20 specialist mann, he along with Sachin, rayudu, symo and rohit makes a great batting line up. But I still feel they have to go bowling strong and play 5 bowlers for better results as they are further strengthening their strenghts and weakiening their weak link (i.e bowling). the game against RR was just an odd day and it doesn't matter of u hav 6 batsman or 7. on a diff. track u gonna go down. nso my advice would be to strengthen the bowling a bit.
