Spin is their weakness.. If :pw: had one more spinner (even part time) or a captain different from UV, :mi: would have been in serious trouble today. If they have to play :rr: or :csk: in the playoffs, they better hope that Tendu scores a 100.

rescued by a SA FC player after being at 126/6 at the 18 th over. :haha: n nothing impressive . yes pollard reached 30 for the third time in around 20+ innings which suggest the next 25+ is most likely to come in the next IPL :hysterical:

Sachin always scores runs the second opener has yet to come to life.... (one weak point) Rayudu always scores runs Rohit is lookin good Symonds is lookin good Pollard is lookin ominous Suman has come into his own Harbhajan can smote a few sixes In the bowling department Malinga is there right at the top. BHajji is also lookin good. Munaf is miserly Nechin/Kulkarni/Murtaza can bow a decent spell Pollard/Symonds can fill in the gap All in all even though this team can be beaten, they look more "in form" than the other teams so far. Hot favorites to finish in top 2 for the playoffs

You forgot the fielding. MI has been outstanding in the field.

I wish MI had a better 4th international player. Think if Gayle was in the team as a opening partner to SRT instead of Jacobs/Blizzard.. or if they had someone like Morkel instead Nechim/Kulkarni. How awesome would that be. I seriously think they missed a trick with Gayle.

@ YoungIndia, here are some numbers to refute your meaningless 4 batsmen theory. So far, both MI and CSK have played 10 games each. MI have scored 1475 runs and CSK 1466. So with 4 batsmen we have done as well as you have, and won two extra games in the process. These numbers indicate that you are as good as our batting, but our bowling is much better than yours. Here is the break up of runs for MI across the 10 games- Jacobs -92 Tendulkar -365 Rayudu-349 R Sharma- 282 Pollard- 63 Symonds - 102 and then others. The top 4 run scorers are Tendulkar, Rayudu, Sharma and Symonds- They have together scored 74.44% of the total runs. Now doing the same for CSK Badrinath - 294 Hussey- 342 Raina-277 Dhoni - 158 Veejay- 224 Aniruddha - 83 and others Your top 4 batsmen are Badri, Hussey, Raina and Veejay. They have scored 77.56% of the total runs. So your team is more dependent on the top 4 than MI. Doesn't this negate your theory? Besides, wouldn't you expect the top 4 batsmen in every team to score 70%+ of the total runs? I'm not good with numbers, so there could be mistakes in computing these figures.

I am not a numbers guy at all and could not care less. i predominantly rely on my eye and understanding of the game. you can use relevant data as a reference but it has to be intrepreted in the right way. for example, your data of % of total runs does not reflect the ability of your team to recover if the big four fail. My contention is can the technically weaker rest provide a competitive total if the big four or atleast three fail. for example in rajasthan, 120 could have been a good total but your team scored only 94. against pune, that one over from thomas proved crucial and you got to a par score.but pune was way dowen in form and confidence to pull a victory. but that's precisely my point. on a day when the big four or three of them fail, you will find yourself ina spot of big bother. competitive total is a per match case.not total runs. hence your exericse was a waste of time on a sunday and you are wasting my time as well. CSK has dhoni, anirudh and albie all of whom have ability to last longer and more proper bats than what MI has.hence our ability to post a competitive total is better even if the big 3 or 4 fail.
These numbers indicate that you are as good as our batting, but our bowling is much better than yours.
there may be a tournament/series where harbhajan has scored more than sachin. :hysterical: if you look at the men rather than the numbers, you have dhoni and pollard. you think its a comparison? dhoni may not have hit his best till now.but you don't forget the WC final do you?

Even without that happening, how much did your team score yesterday :hysterical:

You keep on bringing Thomas' final over in every post of yours as if it was for the first time a bowler went for over 20 runs in the final overs of T20 match..tell u what if not for Ishant's erratic over (you might call it brilliant hitting from Albie :winky:), your team would have been lying somewhere in the 6th or 7th position at this point of time.

Ok, MI have only 4 batsmen.................despite that we're top of the table and into the last 4 with 4 games to spare. Others should be thankful that we have "only" 4 batsmen :winky:

MI are at the top of the pool due to the combined performance of batting, bowling as well as fielding. Make no mistake that this team can be beaten, for that matter all teams can be beaten. But so far Mumbai has been the best all round performing unit in this tournament. If you look at the other teams Bangalore is winning all coz of Gayle's incredible form. Even though they have a great team on paper, its only gayle who has benn winning them games. Punjab coz of Valthaty Pune....ermmm they are winning nothing Dilli coz of Sehwag Kochi wins if Brendon fires. So far RR, KKR, CSK and MI are winning based on combined team performance and all these teams are beatable.
