This was on the cards for a long while. he was unfit even before IPL started and he's getting operated now coz DD are out of knockouts. He's gonna miss the Eng tour as well.

A BCCI source said it would take a minimum of six to eight weeks for Sehwag to recover and following rehabilitation protocols will be important. "The possibility of Sehwag missing the England tour is high," the source said.

He won't tour Eng. 6-8 weeks is not sufficient recovery time for a shoulder surgery. IMO he will be out for around 4 months or so. I just hope he's back for the Aus tour and India beat Aussies in Aus

It was a terrible decision on his part though to not go for the surgery straight after WC.

Who are we to decide what he should do? Unless you are a billionaire and could compensate lost wages, please let the man decide what's best for him and his family. It's a pity that he won't be available to play for India, but I can understand his motive. I would have done the same if I stand to lose couple of million dollars.

It is not that uncommon for people to miss series with injury. Believe it or not, it used to happen even before the advent of the IPL.

So where did I/we decide for him what to do? Being his fan, I have full right to say if his decision was right for the team or not just as we get to say if a particular shot played, that leads to player's dismissal was a good shot or bad one. Where does being a millionaire or billionaire come into it? Keep the garbage aside, we are discusing cricket for India here.
