someone Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Really hard to tell but I considering the 4 IPLs did not enjoy watching the IPL this year. Again, I love IPL and was very excited equally about IPL 2011 before the tournament like the other 3 editions despite the world cup happening this year. But for some reason, this is not the same anymore. Anyone else felt the same way? What about others? Is it because of lack of Lalit Modi factori?? Is this a concern for the long term?
Guest Gunner Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 this might be the best ipl yet if BRC wins it. I support this :rcb:
Mariyam Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I support this :rcb: Waah. Supporting two teams, are we? Now I've seen it all.
someone Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 Too many one sided games this year. I would not agree with that fully. First , there have been upsets and plenty of them. Absolutely nothing has been predictable. At the start, RR and KXIP were seen the worst team and lucky to even get 2 wins. Yet, they did reasonably over their expectations. So just compare the expected rankings before the start to the end of IPL. Very sure huge differences. So clearly , there is been some shocks and therefore an element of entertainment.

Yes there have been upsets though some of the upsets have been credited to IPL pays and cheques (:winky:).But all in all too many ordinary ,boring matches for my liking .Having said that I have seen most of those matches.:--D.

Like I said, you are partially right, but in terms of matches, there have been enough excitement just like previous seasons due to unpredictability for me. However, it really seems like IPL has lost the X-factor which is what I fail to comprehend or name.

saneindian Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Too many games. For first 3 seasons, we had 59 games in total. In this one, we have already had 59 matches played! The addition of 2 new teams has also reduced the strength of some of the teams. But at least in this IPL, the focus has been on cricket, bowling standards have been better, teams haven't scored 200+ easily. If only they could increase the ldistance of boundaries from the pitch. At most ground average field size has been 60-65 meters which is quite small IMO.
