An interesting aspect of Sreesanth's bowling career is his ability to pick up top order wickets. Out of the 79 wickets he picked 56 are them No.1 to No.5 batsman in the batting order. That is 70% of the wickets. as a comparison Ishant 47/90 = 52% Zaheer 166/271 = 61% ( Zaheer is even more astonishing against top 3 batsmen. 124/271 = 45%) Dale Steyn 127/231 = 53% Akram 48% Sreesanth's frequently dismissed batsmen Amla 6 times out of 9 matches ABDV 5 times out of 9 matches Smith 5 out of 9 Kallis 4 out of 8 Collingwood 4 out of 5 Sarwan 3 out of 4 Boucher 3 out of 9 Ashwell prince 3 out of 9 KP 3 out of 5 Gayle 3 out of 3 Bell 2 out of 5 Lara 2 out of 3 McCullum 2 out of 3 quality of wickets he picks are really good.

Even with his temperament issues, he's more effective in Tests than in limited over.

Wow, that is impressive. Didnt know that. the guy can be top class when he is one his game. If theyre all in form Ishant/Zak/Sree can win us the WI and End series'. Youd think in theory the conditions in Eng should help him a bit

Good stats, VVVS! :two_thumbs_up: It doesn't surprise me since Sree bowls some really brilliant and unplayable deliveries. The problem with him is consistency. He tries too much and bowls some rubbish in between.

I shan't see Shree in shreds shall I !!! His main strength is also his weakness, pitching it up and trying to get swing , but he should have the most helpful conditions he's probably ever going to encounter in England , so let's hope he does not waste deliveries , bowls as sustainably quick as he can , and is handled well by his captain . That should mean 4-5 over bursts, and really well thought through field settings, Zak @ mid on to plan the sequence of variety & to remind him not to get suckered into a bumper barrage if clouted for a few , in other words think , think ,think ,and let him know that if the Sree who did for Kallis with that brute of a delivery in SA turns up to the party, it will be some party . Meantime can our batters practise against tennis ball throwdowns to simulate the high bounce England will get from Tremlett/Finn/Broad etc. On second thoughts, let's get the english team tested for growth hormone if they keep picking these giants :yay:

Good one vvvs,Sree bowled well in 1st test in the last English tour ,then was completely off track in the 2nd test onwards,thank god RP was in top form which helped us in that series.But if he has a tour as he had in SA,then it will be great for us.

He is the one player who has not changed in these last 4 years a bit. He was as inconsistent as ever then and even now, he was another showape then now...nothing has changed since that tour...i don't have much hopes from him...he is as unpredictable as Indian weather department

Not sure what the hell you are on about. One, I bemoaned Sree's inconsistency myself, and nowhere did I say he was on Zak's level. But he is undoubtedly India's second best Test seamer right now. If you disagree, why don't you say who you think the second best Indian Test seamer is?

I just said he still is daylight behind Zak. we do not have actual second test seamer who is just one level below Zak...Sreeshanth is quite a few levels below....
