kooljatt Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 As much as I like Ashwin to be playing for India, these friggin Southies are making me ridicule him in order to defend Bhajji :(( :finger: much love for creating this debate !
putrevus Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I also was critic of Bhajji but seeing Ashwin in last two odis ,we are better off with Bhajji. He has chance to rediscover his form and is proven wicket taker and can keep one end tight, he is much better fielder and batsman. Ashwin if he wants to be part of Indian team he needs to be wicket taker not containing bowler.

Bhajji is rarely going to pick up more than 1/2 wickets a game but his batting/fielding are miles better than Aswin/Mishra/Ojha etc so he the first choice spinner. Other spinners have been given numerous chances but no one has really stepped up and claimed the first choice spinner position. We get ocasional good performances from Mishra/Ashwin etc but that's not enough.
King Tendulkar Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Ashwin bowled well. Kept run rate down. But we have to be consistent with Bhaji mob logic:winky: Thus Ashwin is a mofo who is to scared to flight it and took no wickets. Kept bowling to flat and did not give it air. 1 wicket in 2 matches is useless. We need wicket taking spinner. Econmy means jack as need wickets. This also proves ashwin has bad attitide and is taking place for granted. Also selfish as he should have rested from last game but wanted to play so as not give others a chance.
King Tendulkar Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Actually his economy was poor in 2nd oid and did not even keep it tight like bhaji. Bloody carrom ball, for gods sake we are playing cricket not carrom. Shows bad attitude and arrogance as not bowling ball like a cricketer but carrom board player
Guest Gunner Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 PDid he not produce? Yes he reproduced with his kunt quite a bit on the field. Well done, shall we ahil him now?

Ashwin dismissed Watson and Punter. 49.1 Harbhajan Singh to DJ Hussey, 5 wides, sees him come down the track, fires it in on leg stump, but it ends up far wide down the leg side, Dhoni had no chance Story of Bhajji's bowling these days
say2chander Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Bhajji in tests still the better choice. Just look at India SA test series earlier this year

He has to be axed for someome who offers more air and turn, rember you are not interested in e/rate but wickets. And 1 wicket in 2 matches is shocking against pathetic windies batting line up. Has to be axed and be sent to carrom board leagues, I mean we have already packed of bhaji to darts league so lets be consistent.

King Tendulkar Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 You upto your usual bag of tricks, are you? :--D If you want to support Bhajji, fine, but why would you disparage a definite mainstay of the Indian side for many years to come and possible captaincy material, like Ashwin? I’d personally pick Bhajji over Ashwin in the Indian side any day of the week, but I can also see where Ashwin’s supporters come from. The guy’s a tremendous talent, with great mental toughness as well. I am not disparaging Ashwin at all, I rate him highly. Clearly your lack of humour has got you again:giggle: Read the 1st sentence in post 193 if you dont get it!!
King Tendulkar Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I am just applying the bhaji hate mob logic through for all our spinners.

First three pitches they played on were spinners paradise. Offered turn more than Indian pitches. Last 2 pitches were bouncier and typical west Indian pitches.
ch1234 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Ashwin will be here around for sure.. But can he replace Bajji?. I don't think so.. I think batsmen will master him as in the case of Mendis.
