Zaheer and Sreesanth ruled out of the Test series against West Indies

Recommended Posts

About time ZK announce his retirement from Tests. In the last 4-5 Test series how many times did he break down or dropped out because he is not fit enough. Since fitness is a part of game there is no point relying on againg injury prone players which ZK happens to be one at 33.
Okay.

Coming back to Sree – go a little easy on him. I don’t think he’s injured at all. This ‘injury’ is probably only an excuse to leave Zak and Sree out for the Windies series. The selectors/coach must have realized belatedly that there was absolutely nothing to gain' date= but a lot to lose, from including them for the Windies tour. The best outcome for us would be a win against Windies, which we are perfectly capable of accomplishing without both Sree and Zak. But imagine what the flip-side could be – what if one, or worse, both got injured during the tour? That will be a body blow to our chances in England. We may not have taken the ideal route along the way, but we have reached the correct destination nevertheless.
Nice theory.

Munaf, Praveen, Harbhajan, Mishra. dont play ishant, he has been shyte in test cricket. I Sharma Records type bowling analysis Start of match date between 3 jan 2010 and 10 jun 2011 12 matches -- 36 wickets -- 38.30 Average -- 61.4 strike rate
That's pretty decent Strike Rate IMO!!! Yes the average is bad and wickets should have been a bit more but then there were some roads that some of the test matches have been played upon!!!!
considering Morne Morkel who has a similar style to Ishant, but a few ks faster, Morne and Ishant's stats are similar in Asia, infact Ishant's strike rate is favourable. Morne plays more of his cricket on pitches that aid pace hence his career average is around 30s. Morne Morkel in Asia 9 matches -- 24 wickets -- 37.50 Average -- 66.9 strike rate Ishant Sharma in Asia 22 matches -- 69 wickets -- 32.01 Average -- 56.7 strike rate I believe if Ishant can sustain his pace and stamina he will be more than a handful vs England. I just hope the flat pancakes in Windies don't put him "out of song".

Mithun is a better choice because of his stamina to bowl long spells and at sustained pace' date=' may not be express. With how he bowled Sl, i am sure he will trouble inexperienced WI batsmen more than what he did to good SL batsmen.[/quote'] :two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up:. u always impress me with ur posts. congrats.

Well, Morne does have a good average on bouncy SA pitches (26), but on those very same pitches Ishant averages 48.

How can a guy who averages 28 at home be so pathetic abroad? One reason I put forward is lack of pre-tests warm-ups to familiarize in new conditions. Thankfully there are a couple of warm games in England for the Indian players to get in the grove.

Only thing in Ishant's favour is age...he still has plenty of time to become a good Test bowler as his promise suggested all those years ago. At the moment...less than three wickets a Test, an average of nearly 36...doesn't make pretty reading for a specialist bowler.

Who has watched Pankaj Singh bowl? Is he test class? Ive read that all 6'4" of him generates about 125kmph...but should be handy in the right conditions (so not WI)' date=' with new ball at least.[/quote'] He is as average as they come. Even Praveen Kumar is a useless bowler in Tests and so is Munaf Patel. The best pacers in Tests are Zaheer and Sreesanth. Everyone else is nowhere close.

munna `s fitness is worse and praveen cannot bowl once the new ball gets old rubbish selection should have called back rp singh mithun is not that bad selection he took six wickets in srilanka test series while ishant took 7 wickets

I think they have selected Vinay for ODI and Mithun for test because they are contracted player and selection of a non-contracted player for a position which is for sure wont get a game is waste of money as any non-contracted player selected for India he should be given "C" grade contract.
