coffee_rules Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 My PC is affected by this virus. Any links I follow from any search engine - google or bing or yahoo, it redirects me to another site which is selling something or comparing prices of commodities. I tried all kinds of malware, anti-spyware software, but can't get rid of it. Any experiences fixing this ?
ViruRulez Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It is a nasty virus and I have one website dedicated to the same. Maybe when searching on all major search engines you will find my website about the same with affiliate link to ClickBank. :P The problem cannot be solved easily and the guy whose affiliate/referral link I used has written a tutorial about how to fix it though I am not sure it works 100%. Better search for various websites on how to fix it. There are many free guides too which might work out. Try the free options at first and check if those work. Search in google and you will find various discussions about the same and check if any of those work out. If you want to purchase the tutorial then PM me so that I can tell the website as they also have a money back guarantee in case it does not work.
cowboysfan Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 you are ****ed .It happened to a friend of mine and he suspects he got it from a porn site.
wayout Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 url hijacking mate...download one of the malware/spyware software like malwarebytes, spysweeper, adaware and run a scan. Most likely you use Internet Explorer
Texy Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 you have to manually remove through your registry ....click on Run then type Regedit ....you can search for the steps ....but be careful and backup your registry before making any changes
urbestfriend Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Try one by one in this link You can try Tdsskiller or Malwarebytes...
akshayxyz Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Sounds like browser/url hijacking/root-kit. Whatever cleaning up you do, do it in 'safe-mode'. Since, most of the root-kits will keep coming back if you do cleaning up in normal mode.
