Varun needs one good season more at least right...Im not very sure about drafting players based on potential, always better to give em at least a few seasons of Ranji cricket so they know their game and bodies. Has to be part of the reason why young Indian pace bowlers see their pace fade away

If he's really that quick, he should be tearing up FC teams. Even if he lacks movement or accuracy, there is no way Indian FC batsmen can handle serious pace. 25 wickets at 38 from 11 FC games is a very ordinary record.

Ishant & Sreesanth are faster than him and he is neither tall so wont get any bounce. He looks like slower version of Sami.

Just watching his youtube vid (10 minute one)....seems he is a high 130's-low140's bowler with the occasional effort ball (or speed gun malfunction) Also loving the Farveez Maharoof run up, it seems he collapses in his action and has a very low release point, non existent use of the front arm which is pretty poor. Oh and he is yet another midget. Conclusion: Slower version of Tino Best.

I think you didn't read What David Warner had said about him to Matthew Wade at the start of the IPL. David Warner, "Remember the fast bowler I was talking about, you don't even want to face in the nets. He is Varun Aaron." Warner tweeted this. This guy bowled 150+ KPH at 21 years of age and can move the ball away as well. This match was played on one of the slowest Jaipur pitch. This was one of the worst pitch in IPL. Even Tait was looking medium pacer with no zip and bounce. Watch his bowling on Chennai pitch against CSK. touched 149+ KPH in his last IPL game and he is quicker than any other English bowler right now and as quick as Kemar Roach. He certainly taller what he looks because of his built. He is around 5' 10" to 6 feet. Just as you pressed send ishant 87 mph missile cleans up sammy. ishant has benefited so much from being in Indian set up for 2 years. they saw potential and stuck by him and he learnt from failures. We should do same with aaron, get him in squad. He will realise potential in around 16 months

There is nothing even resembling evidence that any Indian coach told Ishant to slow down. With Indian bowlers, all I have read is that Greg Chappell told Munaf Patel that he did not have the body to have a 145kph career - and rightfully so, imo.

Prasad used to get hammered on this forum and i used to type endlessley defending him and robin singh. As all used to say he told pacers to slow down , which was just made up. At least with Fletcher there it will stop the conspiracy theorists:--D As well documented Fletcher wants pace and more pace

Those changes lead to his downfall. He lost his writ and started falling on the leg side. I believe bowlers should not need to tinker with their original actions if they are doing well. After SA tour by consulting his local coach, Ishant went back to his old action and hence got the pace back and bounce he had lost in the last one year.

It'll be interesting to see if Aaron and Yadav are pushed into the side due to being 85moh+ bowlers as Mahmood and Plunkett, were.
