Harper withdraws from Dominica Test

Umpire Daryl Harper has withdrawn from the third Test between the West Indies and India in Dominica. Harper will be replaced by umpire Richard Kettleborough. The match was due to be Harper's final appointment as a member of the elite panel but he decided to step down "in the wake of some unfair criticism," according to ICC general manager Dave Richardson. Typical BCCI and the Indian Cricket team. They have far too much power for their own good. They will be the downfall of cricket with their 20/20 circus. Sad that Harper went out of the game in this way- he has been an excellent umpire over a long period of time. At least he has integrity- much more than can be said for the BCCI and the Indian cricket team.

Typical of Indian cricket, they win and whine. They think they own the game and everyone should do just as they want. Well here is a news flash for them, they own nothing in cricket apart from the ability to participate. Im sick to death of India trying to run the game for their benefit and no one elses. They should shut up and play and accept the decisions that comes their way. Daryl Harper was a damn fine umpire and should be remembered as such :hysterical: and not remembered for this because India decided they didnt like him

Good riddance :two_thumbs_up: That said, Dhoni still whines heaps in my opinion. He's still a top bloke and a cricketer. If India had accepted UDRS prior to this series this controversy would have been avoided. Anyways there will be a hue and cry for about couple of days but life will go on as usual. On another note, I have met Harper couple of times he's a very nice bloke. He's amazingly fluent in Hindi and Sinhalese.
