kabira Posted July 3, 2011 Author Posted July 3, 2011 ^we won there last time around, not that bouncy track anymore isnt?
vvvslaxman Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 ^we won there last time around' date=' not that bouncy track anymore isnt?[/quote'] We didn't have enough time to win it. We dominated this test most of the time. Even if we had won this test we cannot possibly gloat that "we have conquered" bouncy pitch. Our batting sucked in the first innings. It is our bowlers that put us in charge. Even in the last 2 outings our batting that caused us misery. Only difference now is WI batting is extremely bad compared to previous tours.
Sid Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 I am only disappointed with Bhajji,he needs to start picking wickets.

J P K Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 only thing that disappointed me was dhoni post match interview But the Indian skipper did make a pointed reference about the failure of two of his young batsmen in the series - Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli. "Murali is a good talent. He is a good boy, spends a lot of time (in improving himself), studying what needs to be done. He would have had a good deal to learn from the last (South Africa) and the present series," he said. http://cricket.yahoo.com/cricket/news/article?id=item/2.0/-/story/cricket.yahoonews.com/no-reason-disappointed-cant-control-weather-dhoni-20110703/ dhoni is backing vijay does that mean murli will play third test also :nervous:
NareshK Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 dhoni is backing vijay does that mean murli will play third test also :nervous: It will probably be his last test for a while if he does play. He is not picked for England series and I dont see how he is going to make a comeback very soon.

Or even Dravid for that matter. Laxman and Raina were the only two who played with relative ease. Even Dravid was not quiet himself.

Lol...I know what he means, just sounds funny saying Vijay is a "good boy who does a lot of studying" like he's a kid preparing for an exam :cantstop:

So he will back him. Kidding.. I don't know. May be he should try playing more aggressively. Either way he was secure at the crease in some of his early tests. He looked so indecisive in all 4 innings. He tried leaving lot of balls. Still it didn't work. Next match will be on a flat deck which might suit his style of play. Lot of youngsters found it tough to negotiate the bounce from a good length.

Laxman and Raina were the only two who played with relative ease. Even Dravid was not quiet himself. Sachin and Dravid did their bit in 96 tour under Sachin in that unbelievable Bridgetown test. But we lost by small margin. This was younger bunch, probably never played on bouncy track, they were coming from IPL season and domestic season, They did not have practise game. All in all, 2nd innings, Mukund, Kohli had some time in middle. Not too disappointed with their performance.

vvvslaxman Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 SRT has not played test in WI for a long time now. Referring to the ones he played. Once he was bunny of Pedro collins. Before that epic collapse.
Sidhoni Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I am not disappointed with the team much, maybe Mithun, but anyone would be disappointed when his team was so near to a victory, but weather deprives him of that victory, and he has to settle for a draw.
