Pipe Dream!!

I have watched bloody Test matches since 92. I can't remember we ever had 3 in form seamers on away tours. The best I can think of is Australia tour where Srinath, Prasad and Agarkar were there, they did the job, just could never finish lower order. We always lacked third seamer support, Always!!! Now we have Zaheer, Sreesanth and Ishant. When Zaheer is bowling well, Ishant is not, When Ishant is in Rhythm, Sreesanth is bowling rubbish. Never ever have these 3 been in good rhythm together. Its still a pipe dream. All 3 are wicket taking bowlers. Zaheer and Sreesanth did their bit in SA, but Ishant was off color there. Its still a pipe dream, and I hope its possible for England tour. If they all bowl to their full potential, English are doomed. I am sure Zaheer and Ishant will be confident. Just hoping Sreesanth to do his bit.

The main advantage with Ishant is that he can finish lower order quickly if given the proper field. He can bounce them out.

Hopefully....though Sreeshanth and Ishant both can be very unpredictable on a given day, more so Sreeshanth. Team management may give PK or Munna a chance in first test ahead of SreeShanth.

I think all of them enjoy 'leading' the attack. Ishant has produced some of his best work when he was our main fast bowler. The current WI tour, his debut in Australia, and even when the Australian's visited India in 08 (I don't remember if Zak was fit for that tour or not, but do remember Ishant bowling really well for long spells). Zaheer is obviously going to assume the leadership role once he comes back and I think that maybe Ishant loses a sense of responsibility, maybe doesn't try hard enough, when Zaheer is at the other end. Maybe it is similar with Sree too, although i can't remember off the top of my head where he was the absolute leader of our bowling attack. What is important for these guys to know is that they are always important regardless of whether or not they are considered the 'leaders'. Just my .02

Very encouraged with the performance of our seamers on this tour. The best part is, each one is so unique in their own way. Ishant is a combination of bounce, pace and a deadly inswinger. Praveen's like throwback to the old days - Classic, line and length, keep probing around the off-stump line swing bowling. Munaf is arrow-straight with a surprisngly sharp bouncer. And we dont even have the two first choice pacers in the side! But i wouldnt pop the champagne yet. Our guys have sizzled before, only to die away harmlessly.

I think more than Australia, it was th England tour in 07 where our seamers really looked like a threat to face. Yes, as you point out, It is sort of a dream to see a deadly bowling line up. I think we already have some great unique bowlers and will continue to do good with them for next years to come. From Meiocracy to threatning, things will take place eventually.

i think Zak,Ishu and Munaf should be the trio for the Lord's test. These 3 will prove the most incisive.

Better remembered for bowling a beamer and a big no ball at Trent Bridge.
