The Curious Case of Munaf Patel

bump .. bowled well in T20. Looks quicker ,was mixing well with the slower ones. Very intelligent stuff in the 2nd last over. good improvement.
Looked as if he was bowling 90MPH :fear: But he was still bowling at the dastardly pace of 83MPH B->

but I think that's still better than those leg-cutters he was bowling in India and W indies ODIs. Surely he has added some pace from test series in WI.

good guy,he knows hes gotta perform virtually every game to hold his spot as he doesnt bat or field n is doing it so far.Infact commies were questioning his place in T20 until Munna pwned them

Munaf in 2011 16 Matches 30 Wickets Avg of 23 Haters :finger:
n hes done it mostly on flat decks, just goes to show pace isnt everything

Just because it goes against your views?
no...we need to raise out standard as world champions....we satisfy too easily..need to get impact bowlers like Bollinger, Johnson, Harris, etc.

Munaf gets in the side on merit as one of our better performers. Once we find our Marshall, McGrath and co, we can drop him. You talk like we've got great bowlers sitting on the bench. Pick on useless players like Vinay Koomar and not on one of the better performers.

rkt always love ordinary and below ordinary things. He loves to raise the standard of below ordinary to ordinary rather than appreciating some above ordinary performances :acute:

No one is born Marhsall or Mcgrath. Mcgath was not what he became later when he debuted. People had doubts whether he will be successful. Bowlers don't become world class overnight. These guys are playing for 5-6 years. Munaf is still better but guys like Sree has gone down the drain and we keep picking these guys like they are the only savior for us. There are so many bowlers in India. We need to identify the talent and potential and try them. These old guys need to realize whether they need to be more intense in their efforts, otherwise they are out. Munaf has shown improvements but still far from an international cricketer. Dhoni and Kirsten to be blamed too along with BCCI whose work it is to look for talent with as much effort as they do for money. This is the area where Saurav Ganguly scored more than Dhoni. He brought new guys and gave them confidence while Dhoni does not do this and if he does then that to a wrong horse.

yaar, MUnaf has been just average not above ordinary. Stats dont tell the right story to you. The only match his performance is mentionable is WC SF against Pakistan. Remember the game agaisnt England, where a sheer tailender like Ajmal Shezad thrashed him. We are playing him because we dont have any other option.

Thnks for the suggestion so I need some time to understand cricket first and then argue with you. And which bowlers did Ganguly "the saviour of Indian cricket" introduced hmself, can you name them.Nehra,Zak etc all of them came because they were performing in domestic cricket.Only good thing he did was recall Srinath in the team.

You still didn't understand. If you recycle the tried and tested failures continuously, you wont get anything new. Keep rotating T&T failures wont take take team anywhere and then we talk about why we don't get bowlers and why out team is loosing.

Yaar Sid..sorry I went overboard, but problem to identify right guy and then give him a proper run. How many of you mentioned are talented enough to survive at international level. Need to give chances to not so useless guys and some one who has some attributes to success like pace or swing or skills like PK. And I dont understand why people were praising Munna so much, dont know why we have so short memory. He was not even given a chance in Test matches and was abused by every one after England match. He is not worth so much praise. He has not done anything to be talked about yet even in ODIs. Stats are good to an extent.
