Texy Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Gambhir - 2/10 -- Failed in both innings Mukund - 5/10 -- Gritty knock of 49 1st innings, failed in 2nd...new to Test cricket Dravid - 8/10 -- Superb Century 1st inning, Good partnership w/ Laxy in the 2nd Tendu - 3/10 -- Lot of expectation, wasn't able to deliver....benefit of doubt due to Viral fever Laxy - 6/10 -- failed 1st, redeemed himself w/ a fighting 50 and good partnership w/ Dravid Dhoni - 2/10 -- failed w/ batting, captaincy below par, lost his attacking instinct Raina - 7/10 -- took 1 wicket 1st inning but failed w/ bat, superb 2nd inning Bhajji - 2/10 -- failed w/ the ball & bat 1st inning, bit unlucky in 2nd... PK - 8/10 -- Superb spell 1st inning w/ Zak out of the attack + contribution of 17 Zaheer - 7/10 -- Superb bowling in 1st inning..unfortunately got injured, lack of fitness Ishant - 8/10 --- failed in 1st, redeemed himself w/ 4 wickets in the 2nd, bowled long spells How would you rate them??

Laxman : 5/10 decent half century in second inning Dhoni : 3/10 poor keeping and batting Raina : 6/10 showed mental strength Bhajji : 1/10 biggest disappointment. 1 point for bowling better in 2nd inning Ishant : 6/10 superb spell in second inning, otherwise he was really bad in first PK : 6/10 decent bowling in 1st inning and saved the follow-on Zaheer : 4/10 contributed only 11 overs.

Guest Gunner Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 • Gambo - 2/10 (Abysmally unprepared) • Mukund - 5/10 (Technical weakness was exploited twice easily) • Rahul - 7/10 (Dropped trott) • Sachin - 2/10 (Midget fail) • Laxman - 4/10 (opened the middle order up twice by playing the same lazy shot) • Raina - 7/10 ( great 2nd innings, was unlucky in the first. Eye of the tiger!!) • Dhoni - 1/10 (Lauda) • Harby - 1/10(Lauda) • Zak- 1/10 (unfit kunt should have made himself unavailable for Test 1 instead of screwing us) • Ishant - 5/10 (Found his groove in the second innings, magnificent but gave away match winning runs in the first) • PK- 6/10 (Bowled well in the first, conditions were simply not right for him in the 2nd)

And his partnership with raina in the 2nd innings raised hopes of India drawing the match. In the end it wasn't good enough Bhajji - He bowled better in second innings. I gave 3 instead of 2 because he bowled a lot of overs in the absence of ZK Sachin and Gambhir are rated 2/10 because they didn't do much in both the innings

daryl1985 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Gambhir - 5/10 - Failed in the 1st innings, would not blame him too much for 2nd innings failure as his elbow must have been klilling him. Mukund - 6/10 - Good in the 1st innings but needs to eradicate his tendency to drag on/inside edge deliveries. Dravid - 8/10 - Superb ton in the 1st innings and ok 2nd innings but went out to a nothing shot. SRT - 3/10 - Failed both times. I think the virus affected him a lot but it was also evident that he struggles at Lord's. VVS - 6/10 - Good half century in the 2nd innings, might have got a 7 but his shot to get out was pathetic. Raina - 7/10 - Failed in the 1st innings but outstanding and gutsy half century in the 2nd innings. Harbhajan - 2/10 - Unlucky not to get Trott early on and bowled ok initially but regressed as the game went on and his shot to get out in the 2nd innings indicates that he has few brain cells (that shot is the main reason i gave him a 2 and not a 3). Praveen Kumar - 7/10 - Bowled like a trojan in the 1st innings and got 5 wickets. Seemed to tire in the 2nd innings. Zaheer Khan - 6/10 - Was superb when he bowled but he loses marks for being in poor physical condition. Ishant Sharma 6/10 - Abysmal 1st innings showing. Fantastic in the 2nd innings.
