gaurav92 Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Gautam 3/10 (Took a nice catch, scored 22) Mukund 5/10 (Did well in the field, scored a gritty 49) Dravid 9/10 (Played supebrly for his 100, dropped a few catches too :( ) Sachin 4/10 (Played well in the first innings, looked positive but played a very uncharacteristic game in the 2nd innings) Laxman 5/10 ( Supported the Wall coming in at no.3) Dhoni 1/10 (Epic fail with everything with everything he did, especially the captaincy). Raina 8/10 (Superb knock in the second innings against a very good, firing bowling attack under pressure. Brilliant in the field as well.) Harbhajan 0/10 (Was useless in everything he did). Ishant 5/10 (Bowled superbly in the second innings, was out of colour in the first innings). Praveen 7/10 (Had to bowl 40 overs in the first innings, bowled with a lot of heart). Zak 4/10 (pathetic fitness level, came back after a long break and this :facepalm:). Overall I will rate Team India 5/10 - They weren't at their best but I am sure they will come back strongly at Trent Bridge to level the series.
NareshK Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Gambhir - 2/10 (Got injured before 2nd innings but didn't contribute much overall) Mukund - 5/10 (Inexperienced, showed some quality but has some technical deficiencies) Dravid - 8/10 (Solid as ever, played away from the body in 2nd innings but ball was doing a bit) Sachin - 3/10 (Didnt do well but he had a fever and looked good in 1st innings) Laxman - 5/10 (Played a poor shot in both innings to get out but played well in 2nd innings) Raina - 6/10 (Inexperienced but showed a lot of fight and played a great knock in 2nd innings) Dhoni - 4/10 (Not easy to keep in English conditions, bowled a few overs, captained okay considering lack of resources in bowling department) Bhajji - 0/10 (Nothing much to say) Praveen - 7/10 (Bowled superbly in first innings but he doesnt have much pace and doesnt get a lot from the wicket when it flattens out and when the ball doesnt swing) Ishant - 6/10 (Bowled badly in the 1st innings but came back and bowled like a dream in 2nd innings) Zaheer - 2/10 (Only bowled 11 overs and picked 2 wickets but he should have declared himself unfit before the game itself and shouldn't have put the team at risk in playing only 3 bowlers. Shows a lack of responsibility)

Mukund-6/10 Scored a fighting 49 in the first innings, could have done better in second Dravid-7/10 Scored a brilliant century but also dropped a few catches SRT-3/10 Was looking good in the first innings, but was not upto the mark in the second. Laxman-6/10 Was not looking good in the first innings, but made up for that with a good 50, he needs to get his conversion rate better. Raina-7/10 A brilliant century in the second innings and was awesome in the field as always, Contributed well with the ball too. Dhoni-4/10 Built partnerships with Dravid and Raina in both the innings, and bowled well too! His keeping was also quite good given the fact that keeping is difficult in England. Harby-1/10 Poor bowling to start with, and didn't even contribute with the bat. PK-8/10 Awesome bowling in the first innings, taking up the responsibility after Zak had an injury. Ishant-7/10 Outstanding spell in the second innings, removing Trott,Bell and KP, but the fact that he asked for a rest after lunch was a bit disheartening. Zak-2/10 Bowled really well b4 he got that injury.

Not sure why Sachin got higher rating. Mukund fielded for longer time than Sachin.

Money clouds everything including respect for your friends/brothers/colleagues/team mates...
