vvvslaxman Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Look at the number of over Indian bowlers have bowled. That highlights how crappy our batting has been. Broad couldn't buy a wicket without bowling loads of overs against Srilanka.
rkt.india Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 So even on a flat wicket' date=' the trundler is bowling better than our speed-demons who are being carted around[/quote'] Sreeshanth had already nailed that if not for laddu drop catch
div Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 So even on a flat wicket' date=' the trundler is bowling better than our speed-demons who are being carted around[/quote'] England bowlers are quicker than Indian bowlers
CSK Fan Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Sreeshanth had already nailed that if not for laddu drop catch Not talking aout that one over yaar, I am not saying PK is not a trundler, but so are the others
rkt.india Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Not talking aout that one over yaar' date=' I am not saying PK is not a trundler, but so are the others[/quote'] Pk is good yaar but in ptches. Sredshnth is rubbish. Ishant too only good in patches and has been unlucky.
Fontaine Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I feel bad for Sreesanth. All this test match cricket is taking time away from his poetry/acting/music/dancing and other douche hobbies.

vvvslaxman Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 15 wickets. PK pwned all the "speed merchants"
rkt.india Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 @vvslaxman I was in favor of pk on this tour. i was the one who opened first thread for pk to play ahead of sreeshanth. But taking wicket is important if they come at the right time with the first new ball where pk too failed in the last 2 tests.

We struggled mostly against middle order and tail. This is the first meaningful innings from cook.

vvvslaxman Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 But how many times pk took wicket with first new ball He is still miles better than the two speed merchants we have in this series.
rkt.india Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 He is still miles better than the two speed merchants we have in this series. This is just an illusion. this good is not helpful until you take wickets with first new ball. I only rate him as good as ishant.
rkt.india Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Ishant even had one spell of impact in lords second innings...Pk has 15 wickets but not a single impact spell to turn the game.
CSK Fan Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Ishant even had one spell of impact in lords second innings...Pk has 15 wickets but not a single impact spell to turn the game. I dunno, PK's two overs of two consecutive wickets brought India back in the first test and we had a good chance of a fight back but other bowlers squandered it away. Particularly since we were playing only with two seamers. If Ishant or Bhajji had taken even one wicket amongst them, we would have been in the English tail
Fontaine Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Ishant even had one spell of impact in lords second innings...Pk has 15 wickets but not a single impact spell to turn the game. That's not the point. PK isn't talented enough to be a strike bowler that can lead the attack and run through a good batting lineup. He's strictly a holding bowler who can bowl accurately and long spells to put pressure on one end and occasionally take a two/three wickets. That's it. And he's done that with great consistency and hard work. The job of taking regular wickets, going through the top order should be for Ishant/Zak who are far more talented. Ishant has be disapointing apart from the 1st/half of 2nd test match and Zaheer injured. That's why we're stuck relying on this clown Sreesanth.

If he had not shared the burden, one of Ishant or Sree would have had a break down by now
rkt.india Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Expecting too much from ishant is not fair. He has bowled so many overs. Rotation policy is still not done. 6 tests in 2 months...250 odd overs..how much he can sustain at such a young age..2 condecutive tests with 3 bowlers..this was inevitable.

England used mostly just 3 bowlers to bowl us out in both tests.
