gaurav92 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 ^ I wrote the former post sarcastically I know that and I know you very well too :--D
IKnowU Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 He will be looking forward to CL as he will finally have some decent phasst bowling talunt :giggle:
Trichromatic Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I say he is. He is not taking proper rest. And we are seeing the effects in captaincy blunders. +1 Can't believe he his still playing. Seriously someone needs to stop him. If management and selectors cared about players then they wouldn't have allowed him to play so many matches. He has played maximum cricket in last few years. For a wicket-keeper captain workload is immense. He needs to skip few series.
Sachin=GOD Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Dhoni needs to take a rest but sadly its not going to happen any time soon with the CL and then England and WI and Aus series'. Also, seeing the beating India has taken in England, Dhoni won''t even accept a rest if selectors request him to do so.

Cricket Tragic Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I don't think he will play the ODIs against the WI.
asterix Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Look guys, I had already suggested this (this is the way forward): Test Matches: Captain: Gambhir VC: Zak Dhoni shouldn't be in Test squad. ODIs/T20s Captain: Dhoni VC: Kohli The young players should be selected on a rotational basis in T20/ODIs.

Even if he remains fit, he won't be able to play more than half of the matches.
asterix Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Zak's career is almost over. Even if he remains fit' date=' he won't be able to play more than half of the matches.[/quote'] I want a bowler to be the VC. Only a bowler in some position of power can help India in the bowling department. Enough of Batsmen & WK captains. I wish Zak could continue for couple of years. :(( He's a pretty shrewed brain and also helps in setting good field..It's a pity that his expertise was never been utilised..
Cricket Tragic Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Zaheer controls a lot of things on the field anyway wrt to plans and field settings. It doesn't matter if he is the VC or not. You want the VC to ideally be the next skip and Zaheer is not the man for it.

But it seem none are experinced enough or keen Most of them are not sure of their place.. :((

Trichromatic Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 ^ Karma He will certainly play for next 10 years.
Mariyam Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I like this idea. We can now read the minds of cricketers. :P What about Bhajji? He can't accept that he can't spin the bowl. What about Varun? He can't accept that he was taken to England just to be a porter and a ball boy What about Misbah? He can't accept that the match against India at Mohali is still over MSD won the MoS in the D/L series. Didn't look mentally fatigued to me. Looked fresher and full of ideas in the shorter format of the game. He is the best thinking captain we have. Never crumbles under pressure. At the end of it all, he can only do so much with the kind of injuries and bowling options we've had. I don't think he's mentally fatigued at all.
ganeshran Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I love the way everyone is taking it out of Dhoni for backing the wrong bowlers. Except Varun Aaron (who incidentally is completley unproven) at the international stage, what wrong team selection did Dhoni do? All of the others were given chances and messed up big time. We have a poor bowling attack without Zaheer, and dhoni cannot change it, the presence of a newbie Aaron doesnt change it either. This has nothing to do with CL or IPL either. BCCI should look to develop bowling talent from the school level - that is the only answer to our bowling woes.
