Jersey #10 Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 My heart wants to pump it self out of my body. It's the worse when we have lost the rank plus the dignity we carried as the best batting line up in the world. It was good while it's lasted but I was not ready to lose it and still can't believe it. (:(((:((( We are few minutes away from losing it and you know it's happening. This is a *cry out loud* thread. COL
yoda Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Well we were #1 for almost 2 years. Given our bowling, that is a massive over achievement. So I am not too unhappy in that regard. What I am pissed off about is the way we are getting humiliated every fecking game here.
Yoda-esque Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Stop being so melodramatic. We played bad.We lost. This is good as we can get back to focussing. The post-world cup party is over.
Jersey #10 Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 9th wicket down now. It's matter of minutes now
Jersey #10 Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 Stop being so melodramatic. We played bad.We lost. This is good as we can get back to focussing. The post-world cup party is over. but we are much better than this!
Yoda-esque Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 but we are much better than this! Yes We are..thats why I mentioned that we will get back the focus now. This tour was an ambush , just like BD ambushed us in 2007. We very bloated with back then over confidence as we are now
Laaloo Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 It's fine. We'll come out better because of this. We needed this especially after all the Indian keyboard warriors start abusing the opposition, the commentators, etc. Showing false bravado and all that. We thought we would show up for the series without pathetic preparation, and that's all that was needed. Pathetic preparation Pathetic team selection ( selecting an unfit Sehwag) Selecting RP Singh ( probably will play at the oval, get battered and will never play again)
Jersey #10 Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 nature's rule - nothing is permanent. but it could be long lasting. Many went on to compare India with the WI and OZ domination era. It would have been great had we done even 25% of what those two teams did for many years. It hurts to know that we are not the best, it hurts to know that our batting is not dependable. It hurts even more to know that we were humiliated by the English.
Brainfade Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 To me, it is not about losing the #1 ranking; rather it is about the manner in which we have lost the 3 matches. The complete lack of will to fight is still baffling to me. If we had lost all three tests and with it the #1 ranking, but had shown the kind of grit that we have come to see and love in the last 7 - 8 years, I would have taken solace in that. It is not that these guys suddenly forgot how to play the game; it is obvious that they have lost the mental battle. That is most disappointing.
Jersey #10 Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 It's sad to know that all the India haters and critics have been proven right. It's Diwali/Christmas time for many English, OZ and Windies people.
Lord Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Well we were #1 for almost 2 years. Given our bowling' date=' that is a massive over achievement. So I am not too unhappy in that regard. Temujin Khaghan Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 but it could be long lasting. Many went on to compare India with the WI and OZ domination era. CrazyCric Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Next step 4-0 ,then India will go to 3rd place
