As the stats prove , Sreesanth did not become crap last week, he has been like this most of his career with a few good performances in between. If our fast bowlers can't perform in helpful conditions in England where will they perform ?

Go back a few years on this forum and you'll see guys like myself questioning how Sreesanth gets into the side because it's not on merit. Same with Bhajji and his form over the last year and so on. Then ofcourse there are those idiots who still think Sreesanth is "wicket taking bowler" just because he bowls one good spell every two test matches.

Fontaine Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Ishant can definitely be a very good bowler for us and at times is. The difference is he's not the leader of the attack. He needs another bowler to do well and lead the attack. Praveen is ideally no more than the number 3 option. A consistent/line/length bowler who can bowl long spells and take wickets with the new ball. The wicket takers should be Zaheer/Ishant but instead we've got Sree operating in short bursts giving away runs and preventing any pressure from being built up.

Ishant is the one who will become the leader of this attack in the future.

I am sure RP singh is also in the same league these days. First criteria for pacers selection should be fitness..

Talent without hard work is not enough. Look at how a bowler like Tim Bresnan has improved over the years, working on his fitness and skills, despite not being as naturally gifted as Sreesanth. Sreesanth has not improved one bit since he made his debut 6 years ago, and his fitness has gotten progressively worse. At 28, he will never change and remain a mediocre bowler despite his talent.
