http://www.rediff.com/cricket/report/india-england-test-series-praveen-kumar-the-oval/20110817.htm Even as the visitors try to salvage what has been a woeful England [ Images ] series thus far, they might just be without their best bowler on the tour. Praveen Kumar, who has claimed 15 wickets (@ 29.53), is a doubtful starter for the fourth and final Test, startng at The Oval, on Thursday. The 24-year-old was hit on the thumb by a James Anderson [ Images ] delivery while batting in the second innings at Edgbaston, and is likely to be ruled out of the game. Kumar, who is among the handful of performers, along with Rahul Dravid [ Images ] and Ishant Sharma [ Images ], for India [ Images ] in the ongoing series, bowled a whopping 158.3 overs in the three Tests played. In his absence the visitors have their task cut out as they try to prevent a series whitewash.

On being asked about the Indian team's composition for the fourth Test Dhoni hinted that Virat Kohli, who was sent in to replace Yuvraj Singh, is unlikely to find a place at the expense of the so-far short-ball bunny Suresh Raina. The Indian skipper did not give a clear picture on the position of RP Singh. "Can't say about RP Singh right now since we don't announce our team before the match", said Dhoni. Dhoni revealed that Praveen Kumar, who was reported to have been exhausted after extensive bowling spells at Edgbaston, has been bowling in the nets and looks fit to play the final Test at the Oval.

Pakistan: we had Asif (until dead last test), Shoaib and Rana (who was skittling county batsmen for fun that season) out for the test series in 2006- our whole attack. We had to have Sami, Gul and Razzaq :O

Here we have had - Zak, Gambhir (twice hit while fielding), SRT (viral fever in first match), Sehwag, Bhajji, Yuvraj and now Praveen Kr.

Reports are that RP Singh isn't match fit. Obviously he was taking days off and was not training. Should have been called to England the day Zak pulled a hamstring giving him enough time to get back into test match fitness.
