Curious case of Jogiinder Sharma.

Well...What with all this Jogi hate? Its not like people are asking him to be selected for team India or he himself is making any statement that he needs a chance. He has been consistent performer in domestic in spite of his medium pace , this shows his work ethics if not his talent. Why put down a sincere hard working guy, if you folks dont like him..

The 'heavy pace of 125ks' gave it away :P. I do recall Gagandeep being picked for a squad vs Bangladesh maybe and then not being heard of again. He has a fine FC record and was top wkt taker for a couple of seasons. This begs the question that what do we go by??!! I guess a combo of FC performances and selectorial eye to judge whether they are actually good enough. What we do not want is the scenario where a Unadkat is picked despite being nowhere near good enough. and they do pay a little attn to FC cricket- Mithun and Vinay even got picked by that basis. At least giving Unadkat and even Ishant a few more seasons of FC cricket would have seen them emerge as more ready for test cricket, and chinks in bowling technique would maybe have been less likely. Its a hard balance to strike as they want results straight away and we’re desperate for good pace talent.

Here you are wrong. Our FC standard is not what will make them international standard or will remove their chinks or improve their bowling. They will continuously bowl against poor batsmen and will feel they have developed into real deal, but it is not, just an illusion, they will stay their where they are if they will play FC only. Ishant would not have improved a bit then what he is now. Because he bowled to better opposition at international level which helped him develop. Unadkat is not ready yet, but he is not a bad bowler. He is not ready because his physique is too lean and weak. He has all the tricks at his sleeve, just does not have enough pace. It is up to selectors and talent spotters if a player can be developed into something by keeping him with Indian setup because staying at Ranji will not always be a successful thing.

Do u post like this because the "most retarded comments" thread has been closed.?
You need to fix your sarcasm detector my friend. Then you can see the light and can know that India has wasted a precious talented all rounder by the name of Joginder Sharma.
