Call it Ganguly's curse, but the dude is right on

Since the time Raina arrived to bat today, Ganguly kept saying he has to play some sweeps or be attacking to Swann, else he won't survive. Just got out He said throughout the series that Laxman needs to play here like he did in 07. Stay most of the time on front foot. The more he tries to play on backfoot here, he will get caught behind or most likely get bowled. He has been so spot on. These little things can really matter alot. It's easy for a tailender like Mishra to negotiate some bowler like swann, over a pro bat like Raina. It's that interesting a game.

I could've told you that Dhoni needs to attack as well or he'll be gone pretty soon
Well ya, but just wanted to share it. Maybe the views on Raina might not sound as valuable, but it does deserve some mention since he has said that about Laxman who has looked class at times and poor too. P.S - Replay showing Raina edged it.. Daymn another bad decision:((

Munching samosa. That sob must go for us to regain our #1 rank.
No. Dhoni should. He has been a worthless puppy this series. Failure with the bat, ball, behind the stumps and with the captaincy.,

What the ****ing coach is doing ?
The way that bulldozer justified not-choosing-to-chase in WI 3rd test... I had a bad feeling about future.. and fears have been materialized in worst possible way. I hope he proves us wrong in future... but I am quite convinced he is going to be one of the mistakes in Indian test cricket history.

Ganguly is commentating with open heart no doubt about that. He speaks what is right not like Shashtri where he never gets a negative point of the Indian player/Captain just like selection of RP where every1 said what the f u c k is he doing in team & he said u never know his track record is briliant in England. Ganguly said 1 thing yesterday and i appriciate that as well that Mishra is batting better than Tendulkar today & no doubt abt that he was definately right. :hatsoff: :hatsoff:

he just came in, on a tough series. If the players can't show pride and work ethic and determination what can the coach do? I'm not saying we shouldn't blame him, as everyone should be blamed in such a lopsided defeat, BUT.. it's not completely his fault either.. Coach's can only do so much, the players must show heart and will to go out and perform, and that's something we just haven't seen. From fitness issues to lack in match practice to this to that, the players have just been awful to say the least.

His captaincy might have been unimaginative but our bowling was not even worth imagining. If you have a 9-1 field on the offside, still our bowlers are talented enough to give 2 half-volleys on the leg stump!! The bowling has been below par. There has to be a reason that we could score 300 even once while they had every bell, cook and pieterson scoring a double ton. Yes he did fail with the bat and that's a serious issue to be looked at. But the way he played at birmingham, it was good. Keepingwise, I saw even Prior wobbling a few in the last test. even he had dropped Sachin, though that did not hurt much.

I will be glad when Kumble, Dada, RD and the like make it to the BCCI...these guys know what is required and they have the betterment of Indian cricket at heart.

I was making a point that what is the coach supposed to do here! Its convenient isn't it? Laud the captain when the team is winning and blame the coach when it loses. Throughout the tour, Dhoni has been a shadow of the player he was in 2005. He is himself out of form, his arrogance could be seen from his field placements throughout the tour esp the game in which England scored almost 50 runs in the 3rd man region and he just didn't put a fielder there. His ploys, his personal form and the sheer irresponsibility in his approach to batting has all contributed to India's loss. Agreed that everyone disappointed. But if Mishra can, why can't Dhoni?

Ganguly, Kumble, Vengsarkar would be great assets in the Cricket Admin system. But, in real world we can not isolate things from politics. We will continue to need Sharad Powar like people for far longer than our liking. One problem with Ganguly can be, he might end up picking fights with 'powerful' people.
